Looking through your pictures, you could see the same figure from your nightmares. You start to freak out.
“Kid, KID! This is bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad!” You told him, showing him the pictures.
“What? They look like nice pictures to me…” He told you.
(Can he really not see what’s in them?) You started getting frantic.
“How can you not see it? It’s the same thing from my nightmare! Please tell me you see it! I don’t want that to happen, please no!” You shouted, falling to your knees.
“It’s okay, the long plane ride must have gotten to your head. We can go back to the hotel and get you some rest. While you sleep, I can try to take a closer look at the pictures, okay? It’s going to be fine.” He got down on his knees and hugged you. You nodded and you all went to the hotel.
Kid started to load your photos to his laptop while you took a nap in one of the beds. This time, the dream was pure darkness. You were floating in what felt like tar. All alone, not a single sound. Just you, and only you. You sit up nervus, in a cold sweat.
“You okay, _____?” Kid asked you, turning in his chair.
“Y-yeah. I’m fine.” You told him.
“Kay, good. I was able to decode the pixels to see what you were talking about. I was able to mess around with them and found a distortion in them. Not sure if this is what you saw, buuuut...” He told you, turning the laptop towards you. Sure enough, the distortion of the picture was in the shape of what you had seen.
“Yeah, thats it. But it looked more like this.” You told him, coloring in the shape with the paint tool.
“That thing was in your nightmare? And now its showing up in your pictures? You can’t stay here. Its not safe here!” He told you.
“NO! I have to stay here! What if something happens you all of you? I couldn’t live with that!” You started to cry.
“Okay fine, but if things get too out of hand, you're going home. I won't let anyone get hurt on this mission, you hear?” He instructed.
“Yeah, okay.” You told him.
“Good! Now I don’t think sleep is the best thing right now, so why not play a game while we wait for the others to get back?” He asked.
“Yeah, okay.” You just looked at the ground.
(What the hell is going on? I don’t like it. Why would it come after the others? What did they do? What did I do!?) Nothing you could think of made any sense. You and Kid play a game of cards for a few hours until the others get back.
“Hey, _____, we got you something to help you sleep!” Maka told you, holding five or six shopping bags as she came through the door. Tsubaki handed you a dream catcher. It had white feathers and red beads on it.
“It’s a dream catcher.” Tsubaki told you, smiling.
“The web like form catches all the possible dreams and the crystal in the center absorbs all the bad ones. The good ones go through the holes and into your head! Now you can have a good nights sleep!” She told you, still smiling.
“Thanks. I have one like this at home. You have to let it get used to the energy of the area first, then sage it, so I can’t use it tonight. But I can start getting it ready. Anyone buy sage while you were out?” You asked everyone.
“This it?” Soul asked, handing you a bundle of sage.
“Yup! I can leave it out tonight to get it ready and sage it in the morning!” You smiled a fake smile. Everyone was so worried about you. Didn’t want to make them feel bad. You put the dream catcher on a wardrobe, and place the sage next to it.
“Okay, what kind of scary ass thing is that?” Liz asked, hiding behind Patty, pointing at the pictures on Kid’s laptop.
“That, thing, was in my nightmare! It killed me! Twice!” You shouted at them.
“I can see why you would be freaking out about that...” Liz told you, easing away from her little sister.
“Don’t worry! We're all here! Nothing can get to you if we’re around.” Maka told you, holding your hands.
“Yeah, something killing a friend is way uncool.” Soul reassured.
“Yeah, they would have to go through a big guy like me, and I don’t see that happening anytime soon.” Black*Star told you, pointing at himself.
Black*Star and Soul smirk and push Kid closer to you.
“If anything, Kid will protect you with his life!” Soul said, about to laugh.
“Thats not funny, guys. I don’t want anyone to die because of me. I couldn’t take it. So, please don’t.” You looked at the ground.
“Well we can’t just let you die!” Liz told you .
“Yeah, if you did, Kid would be all mopy! We can’t have that!” Patty said, smiling.
“...” You just looked at the ground. Could you really just let your friends, and Black*Star, risk their lives for you? And what would they be risking them for? This was too much. All of this was a bad idea. You knew you should have stayed home.
“Hey, what game are you guys playing, anyway?” Soul asked you and Kid, changing the subject.
“Poker, wanna join in?” Kid asked everyone.
“Sure!” Maka replied.
“I could go for a round.” Soul said.
“Why not?” Liz asked.
“YAY!” Patty shouted, poking Liz.
“I love this game!” She said.
“NOT THAT KIND OF POKER!” Liz shouted back at Patty.
“I don’t know how to deal with new games!” Crona shouted, holding his head in his arms.
“I’m too big a guy for that!” Black*Star shouted.
Soul gave him a weird look.
“But I guess this one time wouldn’t hurt.” He told all of you and grabbed Tsubaki by the arm, sitting both of them down in the circle on the floor.
(What?)
Kid sat to your right and Soul to your left. This all seemed a bit suspicious, but you let it go for now.
"Hey, why don't we make things interesting? The two with the lowest score has to kiss." Soul suggested.
"What kind of stupid idea is that? You high or something?" You asked Soul.
"Heh, no, I'm serious." He insisted.
"I like that idea!" Black*Star looked at you and Kid, with a sinister smile.
"Nope, I'm outta here. I do not like this idea one bit." You stated, throwing your hand on the ground and starting to stand up. Kid grabs your arm.
"Don't go, you're good at this game! I'm sure it won't even affect you. Please?" He asked.
"Fine, but I'm not kissing anyone, win or lose. You got me?" You looked over at Soul and Black*Star, giving them the evil eye.
"That's not up to you." Soul told you.
"I could just stab the both of you. Maybe my nightmare would go away then!" You started getting angry.
"No need to be uncool. Just play the game." Soul told you.
"Ugh, fine." You sit back down and pick up your hand.
The game goes on for about an hour, but in the end you won. Kid came in second, Patty in third, Liz in fourth, Tsubaki in fifth and Maka in sixth. Leaving Soul and Black*Star with a backfired plan.
"I'm not kissing a boy, that's way uncool." Soul said, crossing his arms.
"What are you, a homophobe? You thought this was a good idea, so fall through with your goddamn plan, boy." You told him.
