It was cold

It was cold. The chilly autumn air was blowing on the Weasley porch, and the youngest Granger was sitting on the worn leather couch she so loved taking naps on.

Her sister had gone off to talk with Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley - it was evident they didn't want her around, so she didn't stick around. Bothering them would result in Hermione casting the Muffliato spell and deafening their surroundings, and that made Frankie feel even more embarrassed.

Usually, when she saw them walking down a hallway, she'd greet them quickly and be on her way. Talking to them for long periods of time
only left Hermione annoyed with her little sister, and as Frankie assumed, fed the boys up too.

Frankie Granger didn't mind being transparent. Her learning at Hogwarts was something she could never tell her friends back home, so she had to paint it as torture to the muggles, when she actually enjoyed her time there.

She wasn't very social, despite having a few friends. The girls in her dorm were nice, the people passionate about her stunts adored her, but otherwise she lead an uneventful life at Hogwarts.

Sometimes, when she was overwhelmed and alone, she'd cry. But then she'd say what her sister told her when she was first bullied in public school when she was six  - "You are no victim. Fight for yourself. Be brave, be fierce. Don't be scared to express your views and opinions. Riot, Frankie, riot!"

And with a little smile painted on her lovely face, she'd easily find peace in her slumber, and dream of times and places where she would not be forgotten by time and would have a life where she would have friends who loved her and a sister who wasn't ashamed of her.

It seemed pointless to wish for all this, when some people didn't even have roofs over their heads, she mused. Frankie had two, and she still felt alone.

Her stupid infatuation with Harry Potter was pretty annoying to her, he always seemed more charmed by smart girls, like Cho Chang or as Frankie feared, her sister.

But her sister on the other hand had a very obvious crush on her other best friend, Ron. Having spent all of her life with Hermione, Fran could easily recognize Hermione's body language and how she acted when she was interested in someone.

Ronald on the other hand - seemed very oblivious to Hermione's crush. After all, the amount of times Hermione had hit him on the head with a book, she had lost the count and Ronald surely didn't think Hermione Granger liked him.

Coming back to reality, Frankie couldn't really complain, she'd seen how Neville Longbottom had glanced at her - she had even agreed to go out for some butterbeer but they both knew they'd be better off as friends. But otherwise Neville did a good job of hiding his crush - most of the time Fran ignored and brushed past it.
