It felt better to be clean. I itched off the blood and poured sterile smelling soaps over my body. I dried myself off and got redressed. I walked out and sat down at the table. " Tell me everything. Don't leave out a single detail." she demanded. So I did. Indigo didn't say anything when I finished. She just stared at me and I let her stare. She took a deep breath. Finally she said " Did he die?" "Who? Adrian didn't yet..." "No." She explained " the bomber." "Yes he is. I already told you that." " Did he look like this?" She held up her screen with a picture of a man with black hair, pale skin and green eyes. " I don't know. I said why is that important?" I replied rudely. " I'm sorry. It should have been my first priority to ask about your family first." She said calmly." The reason it was important to me is because it's my father. He joined the rebel cause when I was small. He left me, my siblings, and my mom in this pit with no money. He is a moron, but I need to know if he is still." She paused. " alive." "What" I stammered. " Why didn't you tell me?!" "It didn't matter until now Jade. I know your brother and Raven are not ok. That is more important right now." I blinked slowly. " I want to help you Indi, I want to help you find your father. " "What?" She gasped. " I need it as a distraction anyways. "Please let me help you find your dad." She started to cry. " I will. Do have any ideas?" I said while giving her a hug. She didn't reply and kept sobbing. "I promise."" You don't have to do this. Jade. In fact I don't even know why you would want to." Then she continued " but I know a general location of one of the head quarters. If we ask around we could probably find it. Still don't you want to be with your family? " " I have no need to visit anyone except Adrian and Raven. Their surgeries will take place every 43 hours. They will not let me stay for more than three hours to visit. It would break me to have to watch them be prodded, poked and sliced. You know that." "I do. We will both go see them tomorrow. That I can promise you. Then we will leave. You can use Maple's bedroom if you don't want to go back to your apartment. She isn't here right now." I bowed in thanks and walked to the bedroom. I pulled open the covers on the bed and sunk into the mattress. I looked around the room. Maple had drawn hundreds of eyes which covered her walls. An odd form of decoration. I wondered what had inspired her to do such a thing. I tried imagine the face which matched each pair of eyes. Dark gray with a misty pupil, an old man I thought. Light brown with an orange rim, a young girl. Bright green with a small pupil, the father. Then I fell asleep.
