Ever had that feeling when you want to say how you feel to a person but you can't? You can't because you know that it's for the best. You have to keep it all in because you know that it'll only ruin things if you do.
That's exactly how I feel now, I feel terrible. Here I am standing at an island in front of the boy I love as he rehearse his proposal to another girl.
I never thought I would say this but being a best friend sucks.
As much as I wanted to tell Zayn I couldn't come, I couldn't refuse him. He trusted me with this and I had to at least help him even id it means it would break my heart all over again.
"You think, she'll like it?" Zayn stands and looks at me his eyes searching mine for confirmation.
"She'll love it." I smile and for a second, just this second that felt like hours. Time seemed to slow down.
I didn't know if he was feeling the way that I was but I had to get a grip and so I did. I look away from him and he clears his throat.
"So, uh yeah. Wish me luck. I've never been more nervous in my life." He says as he looks around the island filled with lovely flowers and dangling lights.
It looked so magical and beautiful.
"Don't worry too much. Perrie would love this." I try to assure him.
"But what if she says no?" Zayn looks worried.
"She won't. She loves you enough for her to say yes." I say and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Will you be there? You'll be there right?" He asks hope evident in his eyes.
"I'll try." I smile hoping it wasn't pained.
Today was the day. Zayn was going to propose to Perrie and I was going to be the witness of it all.
"Perrie Edwards, will you marry me?" Zayn kneels down and presents Perrie the ring we bought as I stood there hiding beside the huge wall of flowers.
"Yes, babe. Of course!" Perrie says and kisses Zayn as he stood up. The sight was a mixture of happy and sad.
My best friend was finally getting married. He finally found the girl who's going to love him endlessly.
It was a bitter sweet ending but at least, he found his happy ending right?
Now, it was time for me to find mine.
