The sweet chirping of the birds did contradict my father's shrill and let me tell you not so attractive voice.
"AMY!!!!!!!!! Get up and get ready it's almost time."
So i got up and put on my favorite denim jeans,animal printed top pairing it up with a black bracelet and matching earrings. I put on my high heel boots,did my eye makeup, some lip gloss and i was ready to go......
"My god why do you ladies take up so much time in dressing up i have no idea!!"Dad announced.
I rolled my eyes and we drove off to my new college....
As soon as i reached the campus i was awestruck. It was huge and perfectly clean.
I couldn't believe my eyes. I had never seen anything like this.
"Hey kiddo, I'm off. Don't do drugs, don't create trouble and most important of all don't you dare get pregnant."
"DAD!!!"
"Okay okay I was just messing around. I have to go home and Violet will be here any minute. She has the keys to the apartment and don't get lost."
"Dad! I'm not a little girl anymore. I can take care of myself." "I know kiddo, kids grow up so fast you hardly realize."
"Hey Ames!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Well there comes Violet. I better be off then. Bye kiddo."
"Bye Dad."
Violet comes running and breathless"B...ye Mr. Do...no...van."
"Bye girls."
"Violet are you okay?"
"Yah just needed some air. So huge place huh?"
In case you all are wondering who Violet is let me tell you she has been my friend for four years and somewhere along the way we started to share the same dream - to get into this university. Different subjects though. She has been my closest friend since. She knows about my parents and at that point of time she helped a lot. She is a bubbly and cheerful girl, loves adventures, talks a lot and her passion is in being a doctor as a result she has taken up medical so that she could support her parents financially. Same reason i took up engineering. My passion is dancing though.
"Yah its nothing like anything I've seen till now."
"Then why the hell are we standing here? Let's go inside."
Taking deep breaths we stepped inside our dream.
