My whole world was turned around in a matter of minutes. Hayes knew I had cancer and he didn't tell me till now? Why? Was he trying to protect me?
"So tell me. Who is your other baby with? Nash? Carter? Cameron? Shaw-"
"Just stop ok?! Yes I had another kid. But that was back in high school. I don't want to talk about it." I said getting up but he grabbed my arm.
"No we are gonna talk about this. You told me the twins were your first kids. You lied to me?" Hurt filled his eyes. Though it wasn't all a lie. Yes it was a lie but at the same time it wasn't.
"I don't want to argue with you Hayes. Not now." I pulled my arm from his grip and made my way to the stairs. Hayes filled me but didn't come up.
"So now what do I have to do? Go find the baby you had in high school? Who's the dad? If it's Nash I swear-"
"Hayes stop!" I yelled at him from the top of the steps. Tears filled my eyes as I remembered what happened to me in highs school.
"Don't you dare yell at me!" He yelled back with anger in his voice. "Your a liar! Who knows what else you been lying about?" He started coming up the stairs. I walked to our room and stood there with my arms crossed.
"So what now? Uh? I can't yell at you but you can yell at me?" I asked looking straight at him.
"You can lie to me but I can't lie to you?"
"Hayes why do you care so much. She's with another family!" My heart dropped knowing my baby was with someone else.
"You have her up for adoption?" He asked. I nodded. "Why?" His voice was a bit more calm now.
"Because I didn't know how to raise a baby then. I didn't want that responsibility. I was scared Hayes."
"How old is she?" Hayes asked. I stood there and thought for a minute.
"13 years old. She gonna me 14 in a few days." A smile spread across my face.
"You talk to her?" Hayes asked. I nodded, the parents let me talk to her when ever but I always call her on her birthday and send her gifts so she knows I still love her.
"Who's the dad?" Hayes asked one last time. I sighed and looked at the ground.
"Mason" Hayes' eyes grew wide at that name. "Before you say-" he cut me off.
"You slept with Mason? Really?!" He yelled. Here we go again.
"Would you-" he cut me off again.
"I don't want to hear it! You slept with someone you said you would never sleep with! I don't even know you anymore" he started walking out.
"I didn't sleep with him Hayes! He rapped me" my voice was shaky. Hayes slowly turned to face me.
"He what?" He asked.
"He rapped me when I was 16. You mom had that sweet sixteen party for me and we all got a bit drunk. He put something in my drink and once I getting ready for bed. He..." I trailed off, tears came rolling down my cheeks.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Hayes asked. I shook my head not wanting to speak about it anymore.
Just when he was gonna say something my phone began to ring. I took it out my pocket and answered it.
"Hello?" I asked into the phone.
"Hey Heaven how are you sweet heart?" I asked as I sat on the floor. Hayes came over and sat in front of me.
"No I'm ok. I was just talking to Hayes and we had a little argument that's all." I tried to make it seem like I was perfectly fine so she wouldn't have to worry. I put the phone on speaker so Hayes could hear what Heaven sounds like.
"Mom guess what!?" Her voice was so happy and cheerful.
"What got you so happy?" I giggled. She did too then continued.
"I got an audition!" She happily said.
"For the talent show you were telling me about?" I asked. You could practically hear the smile she had through the phone.
"Yes! I was wondering if you could come watch me next week in the talent show. It's not that long of a drive mom. Maybe 2 hours of a drive." Heaven and I only saw each other a few times. But that was when she was little.
"I'll try to make it sweet heart I promise you. I have a lot of things going on right now and I would love for you to sing your heart out ok?" I asked knowing if I didn't make it she would be heart broken.
"Ok mom" I heard the disappointment in her voice.
"What would you like for your birthday?" I asked looking up at Hayes. He was sitting there, listening to the conversation.
"To be able to see you and your family at the talent show." I felt so bad. I knew if I didn't make it, she will be really hurt to the point where she probably won't trust me.
"Baby girl. I promise you I will be there at your talent show" my voice was stern because I meant what I was saying to her. I will be there.
"Thank you mommy. Hey mom I have to go and do my homework. See you next week. Love you" we said our goodbyes and we hung up ending our conversation.
I looked up at Hayes who was already staring at me. "Her name is Heaven Grace Smith. As you can tell she loves to sing and perform. As a matter of fact she wanted to be in a movie. I told her she could be but in some time." I told Hayes.
"She looks like Mason doesn't she?" Hayes asked.
"Kinda. But more like me. I rather not talk about it." I told him. He nodded in understand meant.
Hope and Alex will never be able to met Heaven...ever.
