Using the cover of darknes to hide me,  I sliped up to my room noding my head courteously at my guards.
I knew most of them, because I had picked them myself, so the wouldn't question or hinder my mission, most likly they would help. Help and pretect me. They- we have a unique relationship. They will not question my orders because the know what is best for me.

As I reach my room the head of my guard- alis, a hard working caring man who is one of my best freinds- greets me with a polite nod.
" Alis," I say, as if merely acnoliging his presence, " come" I wisper, Bearley audible above the patter of rain that had just sprung up.
As I had expected he looked suprised but followed without question. I led the way past my door and towards a storage cupboard. I stopped by the door and he opened the door, once again looking utterly bemused at my actions. I ducked my head and entertaining the rrom motoned for him to follow.

Once inside with the door safely locked, I explained my whole plan. From escaping the castle to finding a solution to the problem of the Kings crulty.
Throughout my ramblings alis just nodded politely and made the occasional small smile.
I knew he had thought better than to disapprove or interrupt me. He knew that if my heart was set on leaving, I would leave. And I didn't need his help, but it would be good not to be alloan, to have a person or people to help me on my travels to find a cure.

I ended my tale and his face broke out into a smile. It almost diddent suit his usually stern and seriously masked face, but I guess that all of that must just have been a mask.
His smile was however still a smile but not a happy smile, a sad , almost disappointed smile.

I stared, tacking in his face the way they melted into a frown. The way his features contorted into a look that  said disappointment. I looked at him, questioningly,
" Alis, what is it? What have I done wrong?"
" nothing! But Araur dont you see?"
" I..I"
"There is only one cure for crulty."
" but..."
" love"
