The weekend drifts by and feels like it only lasted for thirty seconds when I wake up to my alarm clock indicating that my first year of college is starting. When I was in high school it usually started on Monday but it's Tuesday and I'm already dreading my classes.

I have decided to major in literature because books take me to another world. For this semester my schedule says I take American Lit and College Algebra, which I'm not too fond of but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I get up from my bed and go straight to my closet. I decided to grab my ripped light skinny jeans, my navy blue polo shirt, and my white hightop converse. I'm not really gonna dress up I mean it's college.

Once I was done changing I go to my bathroom, wash my face to put on my makeup, and brush my teeth. I put a little bit of foundation, bronzer, natural eyeshadow, and of course winged eyeliner and mascara. Thank god I am not white and have a tan on me.

I straighten my hair like I always do and when I was done I got a text from Jake saying that he's gonna pick me up in ten minutes. After Jake had dropped me off on Saturday him and I haven't stopped texting since. I don't really know Jake but he's a great guy, but my thoughts somehow always lead to Nick.

I hear a honk outside and look through my window seeing Jake in his truck. I hurry and grab my bag and leave the house.

"Hey, beautiful I got you breakfast." Jake says as I get inside his truck. I blush from the name he called me and replied "Jake you didn't have to do that thank you." He smiles big and wow he looks so cute when he smiles.

"It's my pleasure. I got you a bagel because I didn't know what you liked." He smiles cheesy. I take a bite and oh my gosh this is so good wow. "This is amazing Jake thank you again" I smile. He smiles again as he pulls out of my apartment complex.

"What classes do you have first?" Jake asks. "College Algebra and then American Literature after." I say taking another bite from my delicious bagel. "I have American Lit. too we can sit by each other" Jake excitedly says. "Okay sounds good to me." I smile again.

Our ride to OSU considered of Jake making stupid jokes and me laughing at them. Jake is actually really funny. Well, he's better than Nick. I shouldn't be thinking about Nick he can't ruin my first day of college and I won't let the thoughts of him do. I looked at my schedule and realized I was wrong I have only American Lit. the first semester. Jake and I got out of his truck and walked to class together.

When we arrived to the classroom it was huge way bigger than I expected. It was like mini auditorium. There were people there, but not that many. I went up the little steps to the first row and sat in the middle area. Yes, I sit in the front especially for my favourite classes. Jake followed and sat on the right of me.

Jake and I had small talk as more people started coming in.

Finally, the professor walks in and class was simi full which is a perfect size for a literature class. The professor looks like he's in his early 40's and he's wearing jeans, a black button up, and a black blazer with glasses.

"Okay, class my name is Mr. Lark and I will be your American Literature professor this year. I will expect you to have a great time in this class and also a learning experience. If you don't like this class and won't put any effort into it and will bullshit your way through the whole way, then I suggest that you leave as I speak." Mr. Lark paused for a moment and surprisingly a couple kids got up and left. You figured that kids will actually take classes they enjoy, but I guess not.

As kids were walking out and Mr. Lark was about to speak someone walked inside the classroom. I looked up and it was Nick. He made straight eye contact with me. My body language changed and he could tell.

"Mr. Robinson, can you give me a good reason on why you are late to my class?" Mr. Lark said as he was writing the board. "I got caught up." Nick smirked at me. "If your late again your getting kicked out of my class you signed up for a reason. Now, take a seat before I regret my decision." Mr. Lark continued saying as he was writing what we need on the board.

Nick started walking and I'm praying that he doesn't sit by me, but the gods aren't in my favor today. Nick sits right beside me and whispers in my ear "This is gonna be fun" I shiver under his breath against my skin and move uncomfortably in my seat. Nick leans back in his seat and looks straight to the board.

The rest of the class Mr. Lark has told us what we would be doing and reading. One hour later of the class Jake and I finally walked out out and headed outside.

Jake and I were laughing over another stupid joke that he said and of course Nick walks and interrupts us "Hey guys, how's it going?" Nick says excitedly. "Nothing much man just gonna take Ali home. You ready for Friday?" Jake asks. "Hell yeah you know I'm always ready for a party. Do you mind if I speak to the lady alone?" Nick says.

I give a confused look to Nick and Jake responds "Yeah, I'll be in the truck." He then walks away and heads to his truck.

"What do you want Nick?" I say with attitude. "Woah, someone's feisty today. So you and loverboy?" Nick laughs. "Why does it matter to you?" I snap. "Nothing wrong, just letting you know he's a got a little temper." Nick slips out. "What are you talking about?" I ask.

"I'm saying that don't say that I didn't warn you. I'll see you Friday." Nick smirked walking away leaving me by myself not for the first time.

I walk over to Jakes truck and hop inside. "What was that all about?" Jake questioned. "Nothing." I smiled lying to Jake the second time as we pulled out of the school.
