Red couldn't believe what Maple has just told her. She felt all dizzy until she finally fell over. The blackness slammed down on her vision. She heard snarling, and she knew it was her own. Then everything fell quiet. She felt like she was dead.

Then she woke up in a village. She was covered in blood. She had torn flesh in her jaws, and her paws felt heavy. Some of her claws were wrenched. There was screaming all around, and men were coming out with axes, pitchforks, swords, knives, and sticks. She had to think, and she had to think fast.

Red got up immediately and ran like never before. She wanted to go to her home village, but she didn't know where she was. The Pack! I have to get back to the Pack! She traced their scent, and she guessed they had left her because of the amount of trouble she'd caused. Then she ran into a clearing and recognized the face of Maple Frost and Shade Howler. But Maple didn't look cheerful as before, and Shade didn't look angry. They both seemed shocked and Red smelled a hint of fear in Shade. She backed away slowly and felt half relieved, half nervous as she picked up her cloak and saw a hand instead of a paw.

     "I have to go."

     No reactions. Faces remained blank.

"I'm going home." Am I? Should I? She wasn't sure of her own words. This is when she knew she was in danger. Serious danger.
