"Looks like Louis was especially happy to see you today" Trevor said sarcastically.

"Yeah well you know he gets mad when the school calls them."

"What did the school call them about?"

"My grades, how bad they are. And basically if I don't get it together I'm not going to graduate on time"

The look of confusion went away on Trevor's face.

"Ooh! That's why all of a sudden you want to go to the library. I thought you were sick"

"Haha! Shut up."

The library was close but Trevor wasn't slowing down. He's gonna pass it.

"It's right here! its right here! Stop."
He shoved his foot down on the break and the sudden halt makes us jerk forward and slam back on our tender heads.

I hadn't noticed his arm extended out in front of me trying to protect me.

He also did that when we almost go hit by the car.

"Are you okay?!" He looked extremely worried.

"Yeah I'm fine, I have a small headache but I'm sure it will go away"

He was relieved.

I opened the car door but he stopped me.
"Evelyn. Here."
He reached in the back seat and grabbed his umbrella.

"Take this, it's still pouring out there"

I took it from his hands

"Thanks"
"No problem. I'll be right next door at the video shop. Let me know when you're done okay?"

"Okay."

I turned around and entered the big brown wooden doors. I almost chocked on the thick aroma of ink and dusty pages. The room was huge and having never been here before I had no Idea where to get the book I wanted. There were kids working on computers and at large tables and then some were up and walking around searching for the isle they wanted.
In the center of it all their was a circular desk with a woman in her mid 40's. She had glasses on and was aggresivley typing on the cube shaped computer infornt of her. I found that a bit odd because all of the other computers where flat.
She must know what it is that I'm looking for.

"Excuse me. Do you know where I can find... um hold on"

I pulled out a piece of paper where I had written down the name of the book.

"...do you have 'to kill a mockingbird' Anywhere?"

She looked me up and down through her thick glasses then typed something in her computer.

"Thats in section 35"
Her voice was horse and rough.

"Thank you" I said

Finding section 35 was easy. Follow the big numbers and then within that section the books are in alphabetical order. I spotted the book with ease. 'To kill a mockingbird' why does she want us to know how to do that?
Maybe this is one if those books where the title has nothing to do with the story line. Yeah probably.
I took it and moved to the closest table and luckily it was empty. I scanned through the book and was immediately uninterested.

A girl walked up to the other side of my table and stood on it.

Her black combat boots stared me down. She was had brown skin and her hair defied gravity with big chunky curls. She was wearing a black and white stripped shirt with blue jeans and like I said the intimidating boots. She looked to be about my age.
