I sit infront of my graffiti covered desk and look out window at the rainy skies.

I can hear the teacher calling my name.
"Evelyn? Miss Evelyn do you have you're presentation ready for me today?"
I shift in my seat and face her.
"No." I said softly.
"What was that?"
"I said no!"
There was a dead silent pause as they all stared at me.

"Miss you do not need to yell in my class room!"
I rolled my eyes back to the window and whispered to my self,
"I wasn't yelling I was projecting my voice"

She continued down the list of presentations that were due that day, I began to tune her out like I do with every other class I take. This was more than a habit. This had become a full blown routine.
Wake up. Eat what ever trash they give me, go to mandatory school, come home, eat more trash and try to sleep.

I have practiced this for years now and not to toot my own horn but I've become an absolute expert at it.

The bell rings signaling the end of the day and a whole swarm of annoying teenagers leak into the halls and out to their cars.

I was called back into the class by my teacher 'whats-her-face'

"Evelyn have a seat please"
I sit.
"Miss let me get right to the point. Your grades are extremely below average. You haven't been participating in classroom activities and haven't returned any of the homework I have given you since freshman year..."

I'm a junior by the way.

" Hun, you would have better grades if you didn't attend my class or any class of the matter, that is not a challenge by the way.If you keep at this pace you will have to be held back two years and that does not look good on college applications"

"Now I've talked to your parents an-"
"They are not my parents"
"Oh. I'm sorry. Your legal gardians. I have talked to your guardians and they say that they don't see much of you after school so they don't know weather or not you are doing your homework but I strongly advise that you do this up and coming project. It is worth 50% of your grade and unless you want to be seeing my face in the next three years I suggest you check out 'to kill a mockingbird' okay?"

As much as I hate being told what to do I hate the thought of being here longer than I need to. Being anywhere longer than I needed to

"Okay I understand. Thank you miss...?"
"Ford"
"That's it! Thank you Ms.Ford"

I walked into the halls and there were still students coming in and out of classrooms.

"Hey Eve"

That voice. That voice, the body, the smile, the hair, the teeth and everything that is associated with that voice is one of the only things keeping me from jumping off a cliff.

"Well if it isn't Trevor"
Trevor has been my best friend since we were six years old and I convinced him not to eat a stick of glue.

About a year ago I started to realize I had feelings for him deeper than the friendship we shared. I had a crush on him and I don't know if it was the smile or his black hair, or his green eyes with a little tiny scar above the left one but what ever it was I liked it. A lot.

"I thought you would be at you're car by now" I say.
"Well I had to wait for you. You're my number one passenger"

Did you hear that? I'm his number one passenger!

"And my best friend"

That was uncalled for.

"Well you didn't have to I can take the bus"

"What? No. Do you know how many weirdos and creeps are on the bus? Like at least one because of you but there are others"

"Hah! Well do you know how many weirdos and creeps are in your car? One. and he's the one behind the wheel"

"Eve just let me drive you home okay?"

I look up at him and blush a little but I turn my head so that he can't see it.

"Alright whatever weirdo"
