Training.

10/17/2065: It's been a few days since I've finished packing, and I've learned some more about my team, our base, and the entire project. First of all, my team gets  along well, and we did well during the whole team training. Second of all, this base is huge. I couldn't find my room for 25 minutes after training, and I had to embarrassingly ask Hazel to help. That can't help my reputation as, well, leader, if I'm asking for directions, I'm sure. Third of all, the project GTFMO is to keep the entire world safe, not just our country. The minute my team heard that, panic filled each pair of our young eyes. I'm not sure we can cope with the pressure of keeping our country safe, let alone the entire planet Earth. Now, I suppose I should explain training to you.

Training was, to put it very lightly, difficult. To honestly describe it, I didn't think I'd live. I'm not one of the strongest or toughest Agents in my group, I was picked because of my superior intelligence. In fact, Hazel is the strongest one in our group, which would probably explain why she was selected to be our front runner into battle. She is most definitely strong enough to fight on the front line, and I've learned she is definitely smart enough to handle herself. In fact, I've kind of grown to respect her more, and I think she respects me more as well. Isabella and Eli were talking to each other throughout the entire training session, and it was slightly annoying to hear them talk indefinitely about frivolous topics, like what elementary school they went to, or what their favorite color is. I wonder if they are going to make a serious effort towards this project, considering that they are very relaxed and laid back about a lot of things, but I know Isabella and Eli pretty well, and I know they can be serious about matters of importance, so I'm not worried.

Our instructor, Terry, made us do physical workouts most professional sports teams don't make their athletes do. Even though I understand they want us to be in tip-top shape in case of emergency, I don't really think training my body would really affect me, because my position mostly depends on the training of the mind. They made us start by doing 250 pushups and curl-ups, which I barely got through. Next, they made us each run about 12 miles, and made us do several rounds of suicides, which made my legs feel like they were set on fire, and were going to explode at any moment. After all of the physical workouts, they made us go through a simulation mission, specifically an assault on a bunker. We worked together fairly well, and finished the mission successfully. I cooperated best with Isabella, because we used to play strategy games together when we were younger. Hazel and I got along fine, and I think we are all getting to know each other better as teammates, and maybe even as friends, but I'm not advocating the idea of us becoming friends. We have a mission to do, and we are going to work together to do it.

After training, we all went to go eat lunch, and we all talked about our pasts, like what schools we went to, and other things like that. Eli's dad died when he was 9, and he was a military man, which influenced him to come join this project. Isabella has a younger sister, and her father is a big-time investor, which I already knew. Hazel had a much, much different story than all of us. She was given up for adoption when she was two, and she stayed in the adoption center for 4 years. Finally, she was adopted, but the parents had economic problems, and eventually had to give her back. She waited and waited for someone to adopt her, but nobody did. Finally, when she was 11, she was adopted again by a different family, that was wonderful for her and helped her become the strong and smart girl she is today. She then was selected for this project, and now she's here. I find it so amazing that after so much hardship and broken dreams, she could finally find the thing she wanted so badly: Love.

After we all returned to our rooms, she knocked on my door, and I invited her in. We talked some more about our backgrounds, but I didn't know why she had actually come. When I asked her her reason for coming over, she simply replied, "You seemed interesting enough to hear more about.", and I think I could say the same thing about her. I must stop writing now, for it is late, and we all have more training tomorrow morning.
