-Chapter Three-

"Do you know how long it took to get those freaking tables together?" I whisper-shout at Cody. "Yeah, that's why I gave that job to you," he smirks and playfully punch in him the arm.

"Hey, Stacey is gonna be pissed by the way," he says. "Yeah I know."

"Come on, Adrian is gonna start the music soon," he says and I nod.

We get on the table and a few people look at us weirdly, but other than that, we didn't draw too much attention. Until, Adrian momentarily shut off the music so that he could put ours on.

"Ready?" He asks. I nod.

We were making history
Breaking rules and breaking free
Questioning the writing on the wall

The dance started out slow, in sync with the lyrics and the beat. Me and Cody perfectly in sync with each other.

Coming from the underground
Laughing as were fallin'  down
Soaking in the glory of it all

But in dark times when we close our eyes it's a nightmare
It's a nightmare

When the sun don't shine we lose our minds but I swear
We can get there

Speed up.

We've got young blood!
Can't destroy us!
We make our own luck in this world
We've got young blood!
No one chose us!
We make our own love in this world

Slow down.

Someday we can run away
See it all before the pictures fade
And bottle up the feelin' in a jar

Pass it around to all our friends
We can breathe it in and out again
Huddled in the backseat of the car

But in dark times when we close our eyes it's a nightmare
It's a nightmare

When the sun don't shine we lose our minds but I swear we can get there!

Speed up.

We've got young blood!
Can't destroy us!
We make our own luck in this world

We've got young blood!
No one chose us!
We make our own love in this world

And the voices will get loud
If we never learned to shut them out
If you're lost you can be found
If you follow me until you hear the sound

Put em up put em up now
If you know we're never backing down

We're never backing down, no

Stop.

One.

Two.

Three.

Go!

We've got young blood!
Can't destroy us!
We make our own luck in this world

We've got young blood!
No one chose us!
We make our own love in this world

Slow down.

We've got young blood
Can't destroy us
We make our own luck in this world

We've got young blood
No one chose us
We make our love in this world

Yeah, 'cause we got young blood

I stand there on the table, out of breathe. Cody smiles at me. "I think we made a scene," he says and only then did I realize the entire party stopped and was gathered around the three tables, staring at us.

"Ya think?" I chuckle. Everyone starts clapping. I smile, but it quickly fades. I haven't danced in front of anyone besides Cody for almost three years.

"Willow?" He asks. I turn to him, tears in my eyes. You can see the realization come across his face. "I'm so sorry," he says.

I just nod and make my way back to the car. I can't believe I just did that.

~•*•~

"What the hell!? I thought you stopped dancing a long time ago! What's this?" Stacey exclaims as she watches the video of me and Cody at the party. Apparently, she was outside when it happened.

Now, some idiot posted it all over YouTube and it got a ton of hits and people at school won't leave me alone.

"I don't want to talk about it," I mumble. "What?" She asks, not hearing me. "I don't want to talk about it!" I yell, getting I front the table. The whole cafeteria quiets down.

Stacey obviously looks hurt, but doesn't say anything else as I walk away.

Someone grabs my shoulder, forcing me to stop. I turn to see Cody, pain and regret written all over his face.

"Look, I know I screwed up, but don't take it out on other people," he says. "You didn't do anything wrong," I tell him.

"Yes, I did. And I'm sorry. I should have never asked you to dance. I'm really sorry, Willow."

"It's okay. I just want to be left along for a while if that's okay." He nods. "Yeah, okay." I smile at him and walk to towards the library.

"Hey," a voice says, making me jump. I turn and see, sigh disappointedly, the wall.

"The what?" He chuckles. Oops, must've said that out loud. "Nothing. What do you want, Walker?"

"Hey! What's up your ass today?" He asks, his hands up in defense. "I'm not in the mood for you, so just go the freak away," I spat.

"Like I want to talk to you. I was just giving you this. It's from Mrs. Drapp," he says, handing me a note. "Thanks," I say, snatching it out of his hands and continuing on to the library.

I sit down at one of the tables and pull out my phone, not bothering with the note yet.

I check out something I haven't looked at in two years. Me and Cody's dance Instagram account. It has over four million followers.

I smile at one of the picture of me and Cody after a competition. We were fifteen, with stupid grins on ours faces. We had just gotten first place. We were well known when we danced.

That all changed. I don't compete or dance for anyone except for Cody. We dance together every week, but it's only for fun. We videotape every single routine though.

I smile and turn my phone off. I put it in my pocket and see the note out of the corner of my eye. I sigh and open it.

Willow,
I meant to ask you in person, but I guess this will have to do. Trystan is really failing and you are my best student. I was hoping you'd tutor him? I'd mean a lot to me. He really needs it. Let me know!

Dear lord, kill me now.
