First Day of Trouble

By the time Tyler and Tanya were 6, things were going well, That Monday was the first day of first grade for them. The alarm went off, and Janet sat up, yawning. The sun shining brightly on her wife's sleeping face. They had been together for 6 years and going strong. Some times Nicki would come home late, but Janet understood, The job of a boss isn't always completely done. She sighed and slid out of bed, and slipped on her slippers. It was October, and close to Halloween, and they were excited to go trick or treating with their moms. She walked down the hall to the room they still shared, and opened it silently, then turned on the light.

"Tanya? Tyler? Wake up babies, time for school," She said as she kissed both of their foreheads. Tyler squirmed under the blankets and covered his head, while Tanya sat up, rubbing her eyes.

"Mommy...I'm sleepy," She said as she got out and stood in front of her mother, who hugged her close.

"I know baby. But it's time for school,"

"Ok,"

"Can you get your brother up for me?" She nodded and shook Tyler's shoulder.

"Come on Tye, wake up!!" She said. He groaned, and turned over. Tanya pouted, the't wann jumped on the bed, yelping and giggling.

"Wake up!!"

"AHH!! Mom!! Tanya's jumping on the bed!"

"Well at least it got you up," Tanya got down and giggled.

"Akright silly girl, go on to the bathroom and wait for me ok?" Tanya nodded and walked her way to the bathroom across the hall.

"I don't want to get up mommy,"

"I know baby boy, but it'll be fun in school. You'll get to learn, and play and make friends. Don't you want that?" He nodded as he rubbed his eyes.

"Ok then, Go into our bathroom and I'll have momma wash you ok?" He nodded and trudged his way to the room. He climbed into bed and looked at Nicki as she slept.

"Momma," He whispered. He climbed under the bed sheets, and made his way up to her, Nicki wondered what was touching her thigh, so she woke up and saw big blue eyes staring at her.

"Tyler! Boy you scared me. Where's your mommy?"

"Giving Tanya a bath...can you wash me too?"

"Sure thing baby boy," she said as she got up, and ran the bath water, and got him undressed, and scrubbed him gently, massaging his back and finally drying him off in a towel. Janet had gotten Tanya dressed and all now was for Tyler. Nicki picked out a white polo shirt with jeans and his black converse. She brushed back his hair. It was feathered, and smooth like John, as well was Tanya, who had her hair down with braids coming from her temples, and tied gently at the back od her head.

"Tanya? Where are your glasses honey?"

"I-I lost them," she looked down at her white flats. Nicki tilted her head and looked at her.

"Babe. Get them breakfast, I'm going to look for her glasses," Nicki whispered. She nodded as she and the twins went downstairs to the kitchen. Nicki searched all over, until she found the Guess pink and black framed glasses under her pillow. She shook her head, and walked downstairs.

"I found your glasses," Tanya looked down in disappointment as she took the glasses and put them on. They framed her face well, and matched with her pink plaid button up shirt and white jeans.

"Tanya. Did you hide your glasses?"

"Y-Yes momma," She said shyly. she even looked Nicki in the eyes as she said so, feeling sad about it.
