District 5 - female tribute - Aubrey

I smirk when I see that idgit stepped off the plate and got herself blown up. I scan my competition leisurely and once again realize how easy this is going to be. They all looked like wusses. After the voice announced one, in an unnecessarily dramatic voice I might add, I paused before running off. Which way a tribute runs determines their whole style. And who I have to kill first. Most of the outer districts ran towards the woods, including that girl, Dixie, Petra's finger still stuck to her shirt.

I run off towards the cornucopia and so the bloodbath begins. I swiped the orange backpack in the middle of the pile just to prove I could.

I turn around to face a district two, Thalia. She started to come after me, and I'm ashamed to say that I didn't bolt, instead I froze like an idiot. I was dead. I was so dead.

That is, until she face planted over a backpack as she was coming towards me. I let out a burst of small laughter and did a small salute to the camera I knew was attached to the cornucopia.

I laughed maniacally as I ran away, my head thrown and back and mouth open.

It made a perfect entrance point for the trident district 4 was holding casually over his shoulder.

"Shit," I mumbled, as the blood started to flood over my eyes and run out of my ears and mouth. The pain was indescribable, it was like being stabbed by a fucking trident.

I could imagine Claudius Templesmith's commentary. "District 5 favorite, Aubrey, surprisingly taken out in the bloodbath! A lot of money is going to be lost tonight, you can count on that."

The Claudius in my head was wrong, I wasn't taken out in the bloodbath, I did this to myself. As embarrassing as it was, I ran into the trident. His voice was fading, and it was then that Levi turned around and saw what was on the end of his trident. He let out a blood curdling scream and dropped the trident, giving it the final push it needed to end my pathetic life.
