As soon as I see the arena I know this is going to be an easy games for me. I have spent the entirety of my seventeen years of life surrounded by trees and forests just like this one. Patton and I are golden.

I really hope he wasn't the one who blew up. I couldn't see who it was because they were on the other side of the cornucopia, but the sound of the explosion was deafening.

No. Now is not the time to worry about Patton. He may have been my best friend for my whole life, but this is the arena, it's every man for himself.

As soon as the announcer says one I jog off towards the woods. The boy on the pedestal next to me has the same idea, so I turn forty five degrees and head towards a different part of the forest.

I stop at one of the trees right along the edge of the forest. This way I'll be concealed by the trees, but I'll still be able to see what's going on near the cornucopia and possibly be able to go back after the bloodbath is over.

I climb up the tree and rest on a branch to watch the bloodbath commence. Thank god I'm not the girl who got stabbed with the trident, or the boy who forgot to duck when the knife flew at his head.

After the bloodbath dies down a bit I decide to move around the treetops to see where the best spot to set up camp is. I don't want to get out of the trees, so my best bet is to hop from branch to branch.

I take my first leap, and make it to the next tree. I swing around the trunk and try again. I do this to five trees before I see the giant gap.

The next tree is a lot farther away than the rest were, but I think I can still make the jump

I try to get my momentum going and then jump, but fall up short.

My fingertips graze the leaves of the next tree, but I can't get a grip. I fall to the ground, snapping my neck and dying.
