"What do you mean you're pregnant!" Safaree screamed. He stood up and walked over to her. Onika reached out to grab his hand but he pulled away.
"We'll aren't you happy for me. Happy for us babe? We're bringing a new life into the world! Isn't that amazing?" She looked up at him and smiled, only to get a look of hatred fired back at her.
"Does it look like I'm thrilled? Tell me that I look happy that this is happening." He said much to loudly, a small vein on his forehead throbbing.
"But this is still good though... Right?" Onika asked hopefully.
"No. This is not good. This ruins everything. How could you possibly think this is good?" He screamed.
"So you're not going to support me through this?" She screamed back.
"What do you think! Of course I'm not going to go through with this! I, obviously unlike you, have other plans for my life. I don't wanna be dragged down by some baby slowing my life down and stopping my dreams. And I don't want to be dragged down by you." And with that, he grabbed his coat and walked out the door, slamming it behind him.
Onika broke down, falling to the floor, hands covering her eyes tears spilling down her cheeks, being let loose like a waterfall. Tear after tear, the tiles beneath her became wet (lol pauz) , and by the night, she had cried herself dry. She reached for her phone and dialled Mama Carol's number. There was a dial tone and several beeps before she heard the calming sound of her mother's voice.
"Hey sweetie, what's up?"
"Mama, I gotta come see you right now."
