Chapter 4
“No way,” I gasped, taking the two cruise tickets between my fingertips.
“Yes way,” he replied. “I wanted something decent to do during summer break, and I wanted to spend it with you,” he said, taking my hands and kissing me on the lips. We pulled away just in time before the suspicious waitress brought us our food.
“Thank you,” I whispered, smiling at her. She glared at me at strut away. She was very strange; she didn’t wear a name tag or anything. I looked down at the delicious meals Harry and I ordered, and began to eat. We had a few small-talk-sessions while eating, but we were mainly focused on finishing up so we could leave. At about the time we were done, the lady came with the checkbook. We never even ordered dessert (it wasn’t like we wanted it anyway). She placed it down, staring at the tickets that were placed beside my right arm. She studied them carefully and walked away from the table without a word. “Well that was weird,” I commented.
“Very,” Harry said. I took the checkbook and pen before Harry had the chance, and scribbled my signature onto the “x’d” line. The waitress was back as soon as I was putting it down, and snatched it out of my hands. I jumped a little at the sudden movement, as she looked down at my signature, and back at me, studying both me and the paper. “We’re leaving,” Harry said, grabbing me by the wrist, walking a little too fast for my heels. The cruise tickets were crammed into my fist, getting bent, as we maneuvered many groups of people to get to the door. Harry forced the doors open and speed walked over to the car. I was soon going to fall, but before I had the chance, Harry stopped in front of me at the car, and I bumped into him.
“Ouch,” I whispered, rubbing my chest.
“Sorry dear,” Harry said, turning around to face me. He unlocked the car and opened the passenger seat door for me.
“Thanks,” I said.
“No problem,” he replied, jogging over to the other side of the car. Immediately, he started the car and sped out of the restaurant parking lot. Harry slowed down as we got out of the exit, and onto the main road.
“Why so fast?” I asked him.
“We needed to get away from her,” Harry growled, pointing back at the restaurant. “She looked like she was going to do something to you.”
“She did scare me,” I agreed.
“If we ever go back there, we are not to have that waitress,” He said.
“Or we just don’t have to go back,” I replied.
“Eh. But all this doesn’t matter, because I was with the one I love, and we are going on a magnificent vacation to Cancun over the summer, once more, with the one I love,” Harry half-whispered, holding my left hand up and kissing it.
“I love you,” I cooed, leaning up, and kissing his right cheek.
