15 year old Emily Moore sat at an old wooden desk in home room.

Wearing a blue and white striped tank top and some black capris she was fanning herself with the schools rule book. She quickly tied up her hair in a ponytail as soon as her friend Macy came in.

"Em! Oh my god it'a been forever since I've seen you!" Macy gleefully greeted as she sat down next to Emily.

"Same to you too." Said Emily as she smiled.

"Ugh this week is like fucking mercy week for everyone." grunted Macy.

"Why's that?" Asked Emily.

"Didn't you hear? Mr. Mews is establishing uniforms! Ugh now we'll all look like those Catholic school dorks. I hate it." Macy expressed.

"It might not be so bad, at least we can save money for other things now." Emily said as she picked at her nails.

The bell rang and everyone in home room 11M sat down.

-After home room-

Emily and Macy made their way to first period, art class.

The girls both sat next to each other at the back of the room, reciving casual "Hi" and "It's nice to see you!" and many more greetings. They weren't popular or anything, but they were well known.

"Hey ladies. How was your summer?" Asked a womanizing Nick.

"It was fine. Met new people and made new memories." Said Emily as she smiled.

"Better than yours, now get outta here. You reek of fucking axe." Macy shooed.

"Fine I'll get out of your hair. I like your hair by the way Emily." Nick said as he walked away.

After an awkward minute of silence Macy said "He is so trying to get in your pants."

"No, Nicks my friend and I know for a fact he wouldn't do that." Retorted Emily.

"That's what they all said." Macy said as she rolled her eyes.

If it wasn't so obvious to Emily already, Macy was clearly jealous of Emily. I mean why wouldn't she?

Emily has straight teeth, she has a heart shaped face, she has the brain of Athena, the looks and body of Aphrodite, boys absolutely adored her, and most of all: her father didn't run away after her birth.

Macy was the total opposite. Her hair stuck out in every direction (but she got that under control as of grade 10), she had to wear braces, she had strech marks, her weight was going up and down, failing grades, a broken family, has to use hand me downs from her obese sister, and worst of all: she has the worst most gut wrenching secret that could change everyone's prespective of her...but no one knows that, not even Em.

"Hey Mace, wanna join the volleyball team with me? It'll be fun! Trust me." Emily said as she took Macys hand.

"Nah, I got stuff to do when i get home: clean, study, take care of my little brother, and gotta make some money. You know...oh wait you don't." Macy said, of course Macy said that last part under her breath.

It's hard to pretend that you didn't hear something like that come out of your friends mouth, especially for Emily.

"Well anyway... uhm wanna go to Starbucks after school? My treat." Emily suggested.

"No, I have to pick up my brother from school." Macy said as an excuse.

~After school~

"Tay, you should get the Tazo lemonade. It's soooo good!" Emily urged her 14 year old sister.

"Nah, I'm getting the vanilla bean frap. What are you getting?" Asked the small blonde.

"Mmm strawberry frap. Oh god don't look at the entrance-OOOOH LOOK OVERPRICED CUPS!" Emily said as she and her sister walked near the cup display while laughing.

"Hey girls." greeted a tall, skinny, business woman.

"Hi Terra." Emily faked smiled. Taylor just starred at her.

"Did'nt I tell you to call me "Mom"?" Terra insisted.

"No." the girls said in unison.

"Oh, well maybe you should get on to that. Are you guys here to get something to eat or drink?" Terra said as she smiled.

"No, we came here to look at cute boys, sedate them when their vulnerable and then sell thier body parts." Taylor said sacastically. In all honesty, Taylor would've actually meant it.

"Oh..uh okay. How about I treat you guys for some drinks?" asked a slightly awkward Terra.

"No, we were just leaving." Emily said as she and her sister left.

Emily and Taylor didn't want Terra and they knew for a fact Terra didn't want them. Maybe if their Mom didn't know how to drive and their dad wasn't working for a stupid company; Terra would not and never would have been in their life.

You haven't read of what Terra has done and will do, but when you do; you'll wish the same for Emily and Taylor.
