Mike Fuentes ch. 1
I woke up with a groan, angrily searching for the culprit of my early morning wake up call. Of course, it just happened to be the sun, and not something I could take my anger out on. Since falling asleep didn't feel like a option, I decided to nurse my hangover with some coffee. Sliding into some jeans, a muscle tee, and a SnapBack off the floor, I shuffled out of the room. And then I went back because I forgot some sunglasses and my phone. I decided against driving, as the Starbucks was down the street from the house Vic and I shared. I almost cried with relief at the almost empty store. Apparently no one was up at 7:30 on a Saturday morning.
"Hi, can I get an um..." I blanked. Normally Vic bought the coffee.
"Something to cure that hangover?" A relatively cute barista asked.
"Yeah that'd be amazing" I said, then realized I forgot my wallet. "Crap. I erm forgot to bring cash". I was getting more and more frustrated with myself. I normally wasn't this forgetful after a night of partying.
"It's alright. This one's on the house. That hangover seems pretty bad." She grimaced.
"You are a lifesaver!" I said. I could've kissed her right then. She smiled, then handed me the coffee.
"You can call me super girl then" she said, and we both laughed.
"Again, thank you, super girl." I said, then walked out of the store, chuckling.
When I walked in the front door, the band was in the living room.
"Hold the phone! Is that Michael Fuentes up before one?! On a Saturday?! AFTER A NIGHT OF PARTYING?!" Is this a sign of the apocalypse?!" My brother joked, faking shock.
"I was getting coffee" I defended.
"And he bought his own coffee?! What's next?! Tony will say he hates Star Wars?!" Jaime screamed dramatically.
"I would never!" Tony said. A look that was a mix of shock and horror was on his face. Luckily, the three of them just started rambling on about the apocalypse so I could drink my coffee in peace. Damn. It was good.
