Chapter 15

Jax's POV

"How could you let her walk all by herself? What kind of guardian are you?" I ask, spitting anger. There is no doubt in my mind that Ari is in trouble.

"He's doing the best that he can." Sarah buts in, standing in front of Kyle.

"Don't you have to go practice for your learner's permit or something?" I snap and she gasps.

"Jax, now I know you're upset, but there is no need to lash out. You don't want to do something that you may regret." Kyle tries to calm me down but I smack his hands away.

"The only thing that I regret is letting myself believe that you could keep Ari safe." I yell and slam the door behind me. I look up and come face to face with an unfamiliar man.

"Who are you?" I spit out.

"Oliver Jennings. It's nice to meet you Mr.Novoa." He smiles.

"I don't know who the hell you are, or why you know my name. But, I need to go find someone-"

"And I'm here to help. Ariana Winters is my friend too, Jax."

"She has never mentioned you..." I trail off.

"I had advised her not to. I'm not a common friend case, Jax. I'm the one that saves Ari's life after the car crash." He states.

"What car crash?" I ask. How could Ari not tell me about something like this?

"Natalie caused Ari to drive off the road and she was badly injured. I found her and thought that I had killed Natalie at the time, but obviously I was wrong. I just escaped from the fate that Ari is probably suffering from right now."

"Do you know where she is? I swear, if you do and you haven't told me yet-"

"Mr.Novoa, I am not the enemy here. Natalie is. That's who Ariana is with."

Ariana's POV

I don't know where I am, but I know that it's dark and cold. I shiver as I stand up and walk down the path that leads to an unknown location.

I stop at a graveyard and see a ceremony taking place. I see Jax's face in the crowd and run to see what's going on.

All of my friends stand next to him, all dressed in black with sad looks on their faces. Who died?

I go to hug Jax and he doesn't even flinch when I touch him. I try to speak but no words seem to come to mind when I open my mouth.

I let go of him and walk up to the casket. Gripping onto the coffin, I swing it open and can't believe what I see. How am I in the coffin? I'm right here!

"Jax, please, I'm right here!" I yell and run back to him.

"How am I going to live without her?" Jax cries and I grip tightly to his shoulders.

"I'm here, Jax! Please, that's not me, I'm not dead!" I scream.

I sit up abruptly and gasp for air. My body shivers due to the cold cement floor that I'm laying on. Chains are linked to my wrists as I try to break free.

"Ari? Oh my god, you're alive!" Emma cries and I turn to look at her. A huge pain in my stomach aches and I look down to see what it is.

"When she brought me in here, you had been shot. I was so scared, I thought I'd never see you alive, again." Emma says and I turn my attention back to her.

The dark circles under her eyes indicate that she hasn't gotten any rest in awhile. She's chained to the wall like I am, but she still manages to give me a small smile.

"What's happening to us?" I ask, yanking the chains.

"Natalie and this Andrew guy kidnapped us-"

"Andrew?" What's he doing here? How does he know Natalie?

"Yes. Ari, she's going to torture us... We're going to die." She says just as the cell door open.

"Hello, skanks." Natalie smiles with Andrew by her side. "Let's get this party started."
