Moonlight struck the black water like an elegant mirror casting a soft white light onto the surface of the dark, gentle waves. To see anything would have been a futile task, only completed by the burning lanterns in the sky. Thousands of bright white stars were thrown into the multi toned night, lighting up the heavens with a glorious glow. The blackness of the sky was accented with the beautiful Milky Way, dancing and glowing high above the earth. Its colors were painted into the night, giving not a dark and mysterious look but rather a beautiful and aspiring one.
Underneath the effulgent firmament was the dancing tide, sweeping and twirling with graceful flux and flow. In the depths of this dance dwelled the keepers of their haven. Massive blue whales journeyed to their birthplace, with hopes of bringing a life into the mayhem of the world. Small fish darted here and there in the bright reef below, filled with a neighborhood of aquatic life. Anemones latched onto rocks dug into the ocean floor, and thick, bright sea grasses carpeted their bases. Sponges sprouted through the thick jungle of green, giving shelter to small inhabitants. Green, Brown and Corinne Red Algae waved from small pockets of space that seemed available for proper growth. Sun and Clubbed finger coral pointed to the sunlight penetrating the deep water, as Sea Whips and Fans waved to beacon in other creatures lurking nearby. Reef sharks swam in circles, patrolling the neighborhood like cops, and sea snakes peeked into crevices like dogs sniffing for a good meal. Crabs scuttled along the shelf supporting this world, while families of triggerfish and hawkish played among the plants. Butterflyfish and clownfish swam with the Rays and turtles browsing around. Further into the watery abyss, dolphins rocketed to the surface of the ocean to beat the sun in the race to morning. Pelicans yawned as they stretched their wings, taking lazily to the sky only beginning to stain the clouds with the blood of the victims from the dead of the night, killed and used for food. The waves began to stretch to the sky, growing taller and stronger inch by inch. The crabs that scavenged the beach that night slowly finished their meal if one was found during the darkness, then scuttled to their holes dug deep in the soft warm sand.
This world was in perfect harmony, a perfect blend of beauty and danger. He never would have guessed his father would kill them off. It was so beautiful and gracefully crafted with thought, love and passion, to destroy it would be such a foolish waste of potential and power. His father has wrecked his own work in the past, but only to perfect it the next time around, and he always left survivors to appreciate the difference he had made. This was different, though. The worlds the Maker had created in the past were not as beautiful as this, and he had never been so attached to a world his father had made. Normally he never attached to the Maker's creation, but this one was just so impeccable.
Not only did the Maker plan to kill it off, he planned to destroy the entire world, another age to make men suffer for their selfish actions. He never thought the Maker would send another age, another punishment for the men of the world. The last was so tiring, and so graphic. Both of them, the Maker and himself had been disgusted with the sight of it. Another experience would make him sick, at the least. And how many ages had men endured by now? The first was the meteor that killed off the dinosaurs, the second was the flood that covered the earth, The third was the ice age, the fourth was the volcano of Pompeii, the fifth was the fall of Rome, and the sixth and seventh were both world wars. He had thought surely mankind would learn to yield to the ways of nature, and stop all the unneeded consequences. And they had, for a little while. The world was at peace, but all know that when it comes to humans, peace is a dead word. He knew that this age would kill them all. The Maker's patience was expended, but it just didn't seem like him. The Maker loved and protected, it didn't make sense why he would kill everyone. This time, there would be no survivors left to ruin The Maker's perfectly unperfected world. The day the Maker would destroy his greatest work ever would be the last age forever. And that day had come.
