You physically ached. Working overtime, doing every last thing to make sure you didn't show back up to your job on Monday with a pile of papers over your head. Work wasn't hard at all, you enjoyed it, honestly ... just not the paper work and technical things that went along with it.
On top of this, constant walking, heavy lifting of boxes of paper work, and your usual morning workout routine. You felt like you were heavy, like the world was pushing down on you. Your legs were strained, and you felt like you could collapse at any moment.
But he was there when you finally clocked out. He stood with his hands in the pockets of his jacket, crystal blue eyes looped with dark circles and soft hair shadowing his chin. He was tired too, but was there to pick you up, leaning against the car, humming behind him.
You were pulled into his embrace instantly, and you gave a whine of pain in return. He gave you a calculating look, expression clouded with worry for you. You just brushed off his anxiety for you, telling him it had been a long day.
The car ride home was quiet, and before you even made it to your house, you had passed out. Something about the way his finger traced softly over yours lulled you to bed, and he was left scratching his head once the car had been turned off, gazing at you snore gently.
Next instance, your being carried. His arms are warm, and they protect you from the chill of the night air. Luke held your head to the crook of his neck, balancing you as he pushed the door open.
The tall boy made no stop up to your bedroom, laying you on the bed before shrugging off his coat and crawling in with you. He carefully pulled the comforter over the two of you, taking you into yet another warm embrace.
Once again, you were pulled to the safety of sleep by the sounds of his soft, content grunts, and the kisses he pressed to the top of your head. Luke was always like this on your rough days. He didn't press on to hear how work was, and he didn't make you have to walk more than you needed to. On these days, he treated you like royalty, and he appreciated everything you did in the day that followed.
p sure none of this made sense but im so sick i don't even care just imagine cuddling w luke after a terrible day bc that's what im doing
