"Y/N? Are you ok?" Will asked you again.

          "Yes"

          "Are you sure?"

         "Yes Will,very sure."

Will looked at you,his eyes full of sadness.

"I mean...psihically. I can give you something to stop the nightmares..."

"No thank you. My mind does not concern you. I don't care how many times you try to make me look mad. I'm not mad. I'm fine. Mind your own business!"

Will looked surprised at you,but didn't reply.

He didn't deserve your behavior, but you hoped he'd understand you. You had a tough afternoon.

After everything,to be betrayed is the worst. Not having a friend is better than having a false one. It simply  hurts less.

But when you best friend abbandons you in the middle of a battle, with venom running in your blood and open wounds, and runs away to save his life, you even start questionning yourself. Maybe it's your fault...? Maybe you were never friends. And slowly, you realize the truth. It hurts more than the wounds.

Ironically, your biggest enemy has saved you. When the Empousa was about to kill you,Leo Valdez killed it. Then he carried you to the infirmary, just like Emerald was supposed to do.

It was pure luck Will has made you survive. However, you felt like dying. The whole camp knew...they all rememberd when you saved Emerald from a situation almost like this.

You just entered the woods when you finally collapsed. Tears ran down your face while you sit on the cold ground, everything just twisting over and over in your head.

You didn't hear the footsteps behind you and almost didn't feel the jacket that was put on your shoulders. Almost.

Leo Valdez was looking at you,no expression on his face. The wind was blowing his brown curls and his chocolate eyes were staring in your (colour) ones. He got taller lately;actually,he now was 1.87. You would have never admitted it,but he actually turned almost...handsome. Almost.

Eventually, you decided to break the silence.

         "Yes,if that's why you're here,thank you. I owe you my life. Happy?"

         "Not really"

His voice wasn't amused, like always. He seemed almost...sad. Almost.

He sat down next to you. You were wuite puzzled by his reaction.

"I'm here to actually talk to you. Yes,about stupidly fake Emerald. You know she told everyone you died before she got to you?"

         "No"

You were crying harder now. He was going to make fun of you,you thought. But you just couldn't hide.

         "I know we always fight,but... You're not a bad person,Y/N. You deserve a real friend and...I'm here. Yes,we're opposites,but opposites attract,right?"

And indeed, you were opposites. He made fun of everything;you were always serious. He had loads of friends,he was the king of popularity...your only friend had been Emerald. He was very confident...you definitely weren't.

"How do I know you're not lying?"

"Because...I don't know. I'm not lying. If this is about dignity and pride, well, I lost them a long time ago. But I can't just sit still while you suffer. It's your right to doubt me and to decline my offer..."

Suddenly,it hit you like...well,like thunder. Like puberty sometimes hits an ugly kid.

All those feelings you had when Leo was around you. It wasn't hate...it was attraction. Love. And he felt it too.

You grabbed his head and kissed him, your hands sprakled in his soft curls, and he responded immediately. The previsible was now totally imprevisible.

         You were right.

Needless to say, everyone was shocked by your relationship. But nothing mattered; not even Emerald, not anymore.

Because that was the day, when your life transformed from "almost" to "everything" you've ever wanted.
