Danny POV:

I woke up the next morning, felt on the side of the bed where Kristen was, and it was empty. I jumped up from the bed threw on my pants, and went to look for her. I found her in the kitchen, wearing a pair of black leggings, and my shirt from yesterday. She was dancing, had music playing, and cooking us some breakfast. I just leaned back against her wall in the doorway of her kitchen and just laughed at her.

"What?" She asked.

"Nothing," I reply.

"Oh sure."

"Sarcastic much?"

"I got it from you, growing up." We just laughed, I walked over to her, grabbed both sides of her face, and I kissed her. She placed her hands on my chest, and my hands went to her waist.

"So what are you cooking?"

"Eggs, bacon, grits, and toast. Oh and there's coffee brewing right now."

"Hmm sounds good, babe."

"Oh anything for my partner, in so many ways." She just giggled, and I looked her up and down.

"Babe, I kinda need my shirt back."

"No, I don't wanna give it back." She whined, hung her head down, and just shook it no.

"Oh now that's just adorable." I picked her up, and took her into the living room. I got her onto the couch and unbuttoned my shirt. I slipped it off of her, my hand slowly brushing over her wound, but enough for her to gasp in pain. "Sorry." I whispered.

"It's okay," She whispered back. I kissed her everywhere, and then she spoke up. "Babe, I need to finish cooking, since we gotta be at work in couple of hours."

"Okay, but I'm taking my shirt back." I laugh.

"Well fine." I took my shirt, put it back on, buttoned it back up, grabbed my blazer off of the back of her couch, and I got ready to leave.

"I'll be back up in a few minutes."

"Okay." We kissed again, and then I took off.

Kristen POV:

I watched as Danny left my apartment. I got up off the couch, and went into the kitchen to check on breakfast. The last thing that I was going to do was the eggs and toast, so I just turned down the grits and bacon. I left the kitchen, went into my bedroom, changed into what I was going to wear today, made the bed, and then went back into the kitchen. I finished the bacon, put it on a plate, and then I started on the eggs, finished the grits, cut off that burner, put the toast in my toaster, and then I went back to the eggs. As I finished up breakfast, Danny came back in, grabbed me from behind, and kept his hands around my waist.

"Hey, how's my girl?" He asked, as he kissed my neck. I could tell that he took a shower because, he smelled good, and I could smell his cologne.

"Damn baby," I said, smiling as the coffee pot cut off. I broke free of his grasp and took down two coffee cups down from the cabinet, followed by two plates. I handed Danny his, he fixed it, sat down at my kitchen table, and I did the same. Before I sat down, I made our cups of coffee, and then I sat down. We ate, enjoyed each other's company for a few minutes, then I put our dishes in the sink, and then we headed to work. When we got to the precinct, we were greeted by everyone, and then we went into Danny's office.

"You ready for paperwork from the case?" Danny asked.

"No, I'm never ready for paperwork," I reply.

"No one is." We started on it. A few hours went by, my cell went off, and it was Sarah Thompson, Marcus' widow.

"This is Detective Meyers," I answer.
