The Last Queen [Work In Progress]

Prologue

Beauty is the first thing anyone notices about a woman, and everyone immediately noticed Elyse as she descended into the magical atmosphere of the ballroom. Elyse has the striking features of a strong queen. Her subjects adore her, but she had one enemy. Elyse's biggest stone in her path would be her sister's fiance, David. He convinced her sister, Annabelle, that a woman needs a husband.This whole party was Annabelle's idea to get Elyse to meet the gentlemen of her kingdom. Of course Annabelle only invited the barons and bachelors of the land. But little did they know, young Adrian, the blacksmith's apprentice, had swindled his way into the party. Upon his arrival, he the eye of Elyse who had been surrounded by rich young men whom she was happy to break away from.

She ran up to Adrian, sensing there was something different about him that set him apart from the other men, and jealous men watched as she asked him to dance. Adrian took up the girl in his arms with pleasure and without question, they began to waltz through out the crowd. The couple was the center of attention for the whole party, but after gazing into Adrian's kind eyes something else catches Elyse's attention. Annabelle and David are together in the corner of the room, David is clearing yelling at Annabelle. He brings his fist back and Elyse break from the waltz and to run to her sister's rescue, Adrian takes this chance to escape the party and run home before the sunrises. The crowd separates for her. Elyse extends her arms and feels mysterious heat rush to her hands, but she gets David's attention when otherworldly fire emerges from her finger tips. All with a swift movement he grabs Annabelle and uses her to shield himself from Elyse's fire. A petrifying scream escapes Elyse's lips and her knees drop to the floor in front of a pile of ashes that used to be her sister Annabelle.
