It's been seven whole weeks now, since Luke was first put into the hospital after his terrible accident. Ashton and Calum have been waiting for so long for Luke to wake up, and hug them, to tell them that he's okay, and that everything will be alright.
But he hasn't, and Ashton is starting to loose faith.
At the start, it was always Ashton telling Calum to look up and just wait, because Luke will be back, and everything will come back together soon. But now it seems as the tables have turned. As Calum gained his strength, Ashton had seemed to loose his courage and hope for this boy.
Calum just needs to persuade him.
Michael makes small visits.
Only rarely.
And when he does, it's only for about 5 minutes. Just to check up on the boys and mainly to see Luke.
Ashton is heartbroken; Michael hardly looks at him.
Michael hadn't turned up in a three weeks, and it worried Ashton. However, what they weren't expecting, was Michael to suddenly appear the day Luke woke up.
The plot twist was, Ashton and Calum went home to change their clothes and grab something to eat, that was anything other than hospital food; when Michael came to check up on Luke. That one time he did after so long, Luke woke up. His fingers twitched, his eyes rolled back and forth, and suddenly, he arose; gasping for air.
"Where am I?" He asked, confused.
"You're in the hospital. And how glad am I to see you!" Michael smiled for the first time in what seemed like years.
"I had a bad dream - that I killed the poor children in that car I hit. It was all my fault, Michael." Luke cries sadly.
"It's okay. You'll be okay. Just wait for Calum to come back." Michael holds Luke's hand and smiles weakly again.
"Calum?" Luke looks at Michael weirdly, "who's Calum?"
That, was when Michael felt Calum's pain. He knew how bad it was for Calum. But now knowing that his own boyfriend didn't remember him, really broke his heart for his best friend.
"Oh shit."
//
Calum and Ashton slowly dragged themselves back into the hospital, and down the corridors they remembered off my heart now, seeing as they have been there for almost a month.
"When do you think Luke will wake up?" Calum questioned, to make conversation to his best friend that seemed more down than usual.
"I don't know."
"Soon. I bet you he'll be awake this week." Calum smiled to cheer the boy beside him, but nothing seemed to work. He knew this boy missed Michael. Calum wishes he could do something to make the curly headed boy to forget about Michael. Or at least get the crazy hair boy back.
They walked to their assigned seats, and sat out. None of them made a move to see Luke. They were used to being disappointed.
What surprised them the most, though, was a saddened Michael slouchy walking out of Luke's room.
"Michael? What are you doing?" Ashton rose from his seat.
Michael didn't say anything. Instead, he just gave Calum the saddest look.
"Oh no!" Calum felt the tears stream down his face, "he's dead, isn't he!"
Michaels face softened up a little bit, as he chocked out a small chuckle, "no, silly. He's alive, but barely breathing."
