|06| Attempting to leave

Inside of Hak's room, just before dawn...

_____Hak's POV_____

3 hours have already passed when (Y/n) have collapsed after using 80% of her vigor for the talisman she made for Han Dae's safety.

Even though I know that she's only sleeping to regain her stamina back but still, I'm still really worried for (Y/n)'s well being.

Taking a sit besides her lying figure, I leaned my face forward to her face, placing my ear next to her nose as I check if she's still breathing.

"What are you doing?"

Catching me off guard, I stumbled back in shock, surprised that she's now awake.

Hak: "I- I was just checking if you were still alive!"

(Y/n): "What? Why would you do that? I'm not even dead yet"

Hak: "Never mind!"

Standing up, I looked away from (Y/n), avoiding any eye contact.

(Y/n): "What are you doing Hak? Look at me in the eye"

Hak: "N-no!"

Suddenly embarrassed, I attempt to flee the scene, sliding my bedroom's door open.

"General Hak?"

Surprised to see Han Dae outside the room, I looked at him, asking, "When did you arrive?"

Confused, Han Dae answered, "I've just arrived"

"I see..."

After clearing a path for him, Han Dae gave me the medicine for Tae Yeon.

Hak: "Thank you, Han Dae"

Han Dae: "No problem!"

Crouching down to Tae Yeon's still sleeping form, I gave him the medicine that Han Dae acquired from the south forest.

A few moments later, Tae Yeon is finally awake, exhaling in relief, "Ha~"

Darting his little head around, Tae Yeon smiled at us, saying, "Thank you for taking care of me"

Your POV

After finally stopping Tae Yeon's asthma attack, the middle-aged woman and Han Dae left the house.

Looking outside, it's already nighttime.

"We should go get some sleep"

Distributing to us our separate futons, Hak, Yona, Tae Yeon, and I, placed our futons at a short distance from each other.

Tae Yeon: "Goodnight everybody"

Hak: "Goodnight too Tae Yeon"

Yona: "Goodnight Tae Yeon"

(Y/n): "Mhn... Goodnight too Tae Yeon"

Your POV

After several hours of just lying down the futon, I looked up the bedroom's ceiling.

Suddenly feeling a sudden chill, I wrapped my body more with the blanket, having a strange thought--

Why do I feel like I'm being watched?

Glancing outside the bedroom window, I looked at the crescent moon.

I'm tired but I can't sleep.

Still unable to sleep de to the weird feeling of being watched, my trance was suddenly broken when all of a sudden, I've noticed something shift from the darkness, surprised at who was moving.

"Hak? Where are you going?"

Turning to look at me, Hak crouched down to my lying figure, patting my head as he answered, "Somewhere important... Don't worry, I'd be back before daylight"

"Ok... take care"

Hak's POV

After several hours of just lying down the futon, I gently stood up and was about to open my bedroom's door when a familiar voice suddenly came from my behind.

"Hak? Where are you going?"

Surprised at the fact that (Y/n) was still awake, I slowly turned to look at her, crouching down to her lying form as I touch her red hair, patting her head, saying, "Somewhere important... Don't worry, I'd be back before daylight"

"Ok... take care"

Waiting for her to fall asleep it wasn't long after that I finally stood up.

Confirming that she's now asleep, I looked back at her sleeping form, making sure to remember every inch of her face before I closed the door and went to Lord Mundok's place.

I'm going to miss her... but this is for the best.

- time skip –

Hak's POV

Walking down the silent night, the moon's light brightly shone from behind me, casting shadows in front of me as I walk my way to Lord Mundok's place.

Finally arriving, I swung the door open, greeting Lord Mundok, "Good evening, Lord Mundok"

Setting down the papers he was reading, Lord Mundok looked at me and asked, "Hak? What brings you here?"

Stepping foot inside, I sat down on one of the chairs in front of Lord Mundok's table, explaining, "I... In order to protect everyone, I have decided to leave Fuuga and dissociate myself with the Wind Tribe"

"What? Are you telling me that you'd voluntarily leave the princess and (Y/n) behind? Just for the sake of their safety?"

Knowing how we've all been friends since we were little, Lord mundok was taken aback by what I've just said, adding to his sentence, "The path that you are trying to take is dangerous-"

Cutting him short, I said, "Lord Mundok, I have no other choice. This is the only way that I could think of that can both guarantee the safety of the Wind Tribe and the two of them"

After a short pause, Lord Mundok finally answered, "Fine"

Letting out a smile, I told Lord Mundok one more thing, saying "Thank you, Lord Mundok. Since I'm still the general of the Wind Tribe, Lord Mundok, please hear out my final order."

Lord Mundok: "Your final order?"

Hak: "Yes..."

Lord Mundok: "Well? What is it?"

Hak: "That is... Lord Mundok, I want you to accept Soo Won as the next King and make the princess and (Y/n) live here at Fuuga"

Stunned by my request, Lord Mundok looked at me, saying, "What if Soo Won found out about your plans?"

"He won't..."

After a short pause, Lord Mundok spoke again, saying, "Ok then, even though I don't want to, you're still the general of the Wind Tribe, I'll obey your final order so don't worry about it too much, I'll take care of the princess and (Y/n) and finally settle things at Kouka"

Standing up from the chair in front of Lord Mundok's table, I bid my goodbye to Lord Mundok, walking out of the doorway after telling him, "Thank you... Father"

"You're welcome...Have a safe journey, my dearest son"
