"It's for you." He beamed at you, holding the item out. For a moment he looked like a proud child.

"Oh...well, thank you," you replied, some uncertainty in your voice. "Is this the 'great carnival win' you got for me?"

"Of course!!"

You glanced down at the stuffed animal. It barely covered your palm. One ear hung limply. You could have sworn the pink color had faded in the six seconds you held it.

"I know it's not much," he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck, awkwardness taking over him. "But I spent every penny I had to get that for you." He reached out to tap the bunny's head.

You couldn't help but laugh at his dedication. What a goofball.

"You know, you could have just bought something, something for the same price as those carnival games."

"Oh, what then?"

"Dinner, perhaps?"
