No matter how hard I tried, for the next few days, I couldn't get that night out of my head. The way Eren smelled; like pine needles and rain. And the warmth he gave off was so comforting.

As we sit in the dining hall a few days later, it takes all of my self control not stare at Eren. Why am I suddenly so obsessed with him?

"Levi?" Erwin's voice snaps me back to reality.

"Hmm?"

"I think you're zoning."

"I don't zone, Erwin. I'm just– focused." I correct him.

"On what? Your tea?"

"Shut up. I'm thinking." I was up to here with Erwin's shit.

"I didn't poison it, I promi– "

"Commander Erwin?" Eren stops him. I look at him gratefully and stand up. I take my cup to the kitchen to clean it and get away from Erwin. The cook looks at me but doesn't say a word. Not long after I get there, Eren shows up in the kitchen.

"Are you alright?" He puts his hand on my shoulder but I just shrug him off and walk out of the kitchen.

"I don't feel good so I'm staying in my room today. Don't come looking for me." I say to Erwin as I pass by him. He nods and I go back to my room. A little later, I hear a knock on my door.

"Come in." I say. I'm laying face down on my bed, not wanting to move. I hear the door open and close and then footsteps coming closer to my bed.

"Sir?" Eren says as he sits on my bed. This is the first time we've been alone since...

"May I help you?" I mumble into my bed sheets.

"About that night..." He trails off. Oh no...

"W-what about it?" I sit up. He looks concerned.

"Thank you." I look up at him and he gives me a cute smile. I look away and don't reply. "I felt safe in your arms." I tense up. "I felt like no one could hurt me."

"Because if someone hurts you, I'll shove a sword up their ass." He giggles. "I'm not kidding. No one has the right to hurt you." Not even me... I glance up at him and see that he's blushing, looking surprised. I suddenly feel like a lovestruck idiot. What the hell has gotten into me?

"I didn't know... That you cared." I nod a little, but it seems to get the point across.

"Eren... This morning in the dining hall... "

"Oh, it was no problem. By the look on your face I could tell that you needed to get out. I know it sounds stupid– "

"It's not stupid." I say quickly. "It's... considerate."

"I should probably go." Eren says quietly after a moment. Before I can say anything, he gets up and walks out of my room. I sigh and flop back onto my bed, my face buried in my pillow.

Later in the day, I'm still in the same position. Facedown on the bed. I'm just about to fall asleep, when–

"Titans...in the wall..." Hanji pants. I get up quickly and run out of the room. We run to the dining hall, which is full of panic and disorder. I shove past all of the trainees that fill the place, and go straight to Erwin.

"My gear is still broken from yesterday. I won't be able to do anything." I tell him.

"Then fix it before Jaeger has to save your ass again." I glare at him. He looks at me expectantly, so I turn around and sprint back to my room.
