EREN'S POV:

I wake up in an empty bed. The scenes from last night play out in my head and I smile. Levi isn't here, though. I slowly get up and get dressed. That's when I notice the note on the table. I pick it up and read it:

Eren-

I'm going to tell you this right now: I'm not coming back. I'm sorry for leaving after what happened last night. I love you. I really do. But I don't feel like I' can take it anymore. This is hard to write and probably even harder to read. Don't come looking for me. I'll miss you, Eren Jaeger. I love you...

-Levi

Tears form in my eyes as I grab my jacket and run out the door, climbing up the ladder faster than I ever thought I could. Like hell I'm not looking for him. I run through the small field, memories flooding back of the times we shared. There's a shimmer in the middle of the field and I run as fast as I can over to it. Or him, I should say. Levi is on the ground next to his blood-covered blade. There's blood on his stomach and his hands. But the it isn't evaporating. That can only mean one thing...

"I told you not to follow me." His voice is raspy and quiet. I kneel next to him, sobbing now.

"L-Levi... you promised..."

"I couldn't take it..." He lightly touches my cheek, wiping away a few of my tears. I take his hand in mine and kiss his fingers. He smiles a genuine smile. "Don't forget about me, Eren... I love you..." His eyes close and his breathing slows until it finally ceases.

"Levi...?" I choke out. His hand starts to grow cold. I lean down and kiss his lips one last time before letting go of his hand and standing up. I look up at the sky and smile sadly.

"I will always love you, Levi Ackerman."
