"Over here!" Jade cried racing across the field."We were fooling around but she tripped and fell in."
Me and Allie followed her to the pool area.Jade pointed toward the deep end where a tall empty lifeguard chair towered into the night sky.
"There!" Still hysterical ,Jade dashed over to the edge of the pool and pointed downward."She's right there!She's -"
Allie and I joined her,straining to see into the shadowy depths of the pool.I could make out a dark shape but as the wind stirred I realized it was only a clump of leaves.
"Where?"Allie asked squinting."Where is she?"
Jade shook her head in disbelief."She was right there-below us.I dont -"
"Okay ,Jade," I interrupted her."Was this another joke?because its cold out here and-"
"No!" She insisted ,clutching my arm."She was fucking here! I swear!"
"We'll find her,"Allie said patiently looking worried.
"Let's spread out." Allie suggested and I sighed because I knew it was just another joke..
Jade and Allie headed off.I started to follow.
Then something hit me from behind.
Shocked,I opened my mouth to scream as an arm snaked around my arms and waist,holding me tight.A cloth was jabbed into my mouth.
Strong arms dragged me across the field towards the parking lot.
"Nnnnnng!" I groaned as the toes of my sneakers scraped over the asphalt.
I flailed and struggled.I turned and spotted the school van at the end of the parking lot.I saw A shock of blue eyes.Greg! He was there!
"Nnnnnggg!" I tried to call him ,tried to get his attention.But he never looked up.
Then I felt myself being pushed forward headfirst.I groaned as my leg scraped against something hard.I realized it was the door of a vehicle-some kind of van.I tumbled inside as the door slammed.
Thin carpeting scraped my fave.I pushed myself up and yankedbthe cloth out of my mouth.
What was going on!
The windows were dark.All I could make out were dim lights and shapes outside.Then I heard a scuffling noise.
The doors popped open again.I cowered back trembling in terror.I saw the silhouettes of two men each holding a struggling girl.
Jade and Allie!
"Let them go!"
I peered at the men trying tobsee their faces but it was too dark.All I knew was that they were big and broad shouldered.
They shoved Allie and jade into the van then the doors slammed shut again.
I scrambled to the doors but could not unlatch them.I held my breath.I heard hurried footsteps outside and two more slamming doors up front.Then the engine roared to life.
Jade started crying."We're dead," she sobbed."They're going to kill us!"
The van swerved and I fell against a heap of clothes on the floor.
No.not clothes.Dana.
I recognized the crumpled figure in a dim shaft of light that filtered through the window.My fingers grazed Dana's arm and I was so so relieved to find it warm.
"They knocked her out." I murmured feeling sick to my stomach.I felt along Dana's arm and pressed her wrist.A pulse.Thank God!
Dana moaned.
"Are you okay?"
She rubbed her eyes ."My head hurts.what's going on?"
No one answered.
Fear shot through me as I stared at the tinted rear windows...into the darkness.
The wheels hummed putting even more distance between us and safety.
Where were they taking us? I thought.
What do they want?
The van rumbled over a rougher surface and stopped.Without warning the doors flew open.
Shrinking back into the van I watched in terror as a thin rubbery face appeared in the doorway."Hello girls," his low voice growled.
"Welcome to camp kidnap."

Kidnapped?
I stared at the stranger peering into the van.it didn't make sense.
Trying not tobpanic I forced myself to memorize what he looked like.I realized I had never seen him before in my life.His head was shaved and he wore two gold rings in one ear.His hands were propped casually on the bumper as he leaned forward.
"Well ,girls? Are you coming out? Or do you want a written invitation?" He asked.
Silently we climbed out if the van.
As my feet crunched over stones I studied the area.The gravel road ended at a small cabin.From the glow of the windows the cabin looked rustic.Very isolated.It was the only building in sight..
I glanced over my shoulder and saw that in the other direction the road disappeared into shadowy woods.
"Hurry the fuck up!" the bald guy yelled waving a flashlight.
He wasn't yelling at us.
He was bellowing at the two guys near the side of the cabin.They were hacking at something..chopping wood.But the steady pounding noise made me shiver.
"Just hold on,Dave," one of them called back.
Dave muttered something under his breath then moved the flashlight over the girls.He yanked mybarm hard as I strained to scan the road.
'Believe me,"he hissed ,"there's nothing to see."
He grabbed my wrist and slapped a metal handcuff .
"There you go.And you." He pulled Dana over and handcuffed us together.
Dana whimpered and the guy smiled.
Then he took out another pairbof cuffs and locked Allie's wrist to Jade.
"You can't get far when you're locked to someone see."
Using my free hand I touched the tight metal ring.There was no way I could squeeze my wrist out.
"I see what's going on in that pretty little head,Chloe," Dave said reaching into his pocket and pulling something out.
Click.
A shiny blade glimmered before my eyes.
A switchblade.
He glared at me."Don't even fucking think about getting away! We have got to have some rules around here.Every time you girls misbehave someone is going to pay.You're the ringleader,Chloe.You'll take the first hit."
I shuddered at his words.
Maybe I should give him a bait?
"M..my parents will pay a ransom," I blurted out then tried to swallow over the painful lump in my throat.I couldn't take NY eyes off the razor sharp knife.
He shrugged.
"We've got three other little ransom packages here.we can afford to let you die,Chloe,"he said quietly."Just to let everyone know we're serious."
I clamped my mouth shut ,a chill slipping down my spine.Still my mind raced.There had to be a way to escape.
"Hey Jenner!" Dave called to one of the other guys."Did you open the cabin yet?"
"You've the keys,man," Jenner called back.
"Idiots!" He snapped holding the blade in one hand as he fished around his jacket pockets with the other.He started shuffling toward the cabin.
He's distracted,I thought.
This is our chance!
I lowered my head and waved Jade and allie closer.
"On the count of three we are going to fly down that road," I whispered."Run like crazy because this might be our only chance!"
"I'm scared," Jade said."These guys are serious."
"Chloe's right," Allie whispered nodding.
"Let' s do it!"
