It bothered Jessie to see Luke so upset and frustrated these few days. It had been 2 weeks since that horrific incident. Every night, Luke would have nightmares about his mother getting stabbed repeatedly by the burglar/murderer. Tim tried every way to cheer him up but to no avail.
One Month Later,
Luke was back to his cheery self, but he still dearly missed his mother and felt that he should really thank Jessie for going to the hospital that night and Tim for trying to cheer him up. One day, after school, another friend of Luke's, who was very fit and strong, Jake, encouraged Luke to stay strong no matter what happens as there are many possibilities to life. Luke really like Jake's attitude towards life and thanked him for the encouragements.
Luke felt a sense of liking towards Jessie after that incident and would often feel his heart palpitating faster every time he saw Jessie. Day by day, he felt more and more sense of attraction towards her and he decided that it was time. He mustered all his courage and told Jessie: 'Umm, so hey Jessie. I think I really like you, yeah. It's kinda awkward.' Scratching the back of his neck, he blushed slightly. Upon seeing that, Jessie reassured him that he needn't be shy about it.
Days past by quickly and Luke grew closer to Jessie. They would hang out often, watch movies. However, another boy, Bernard, bigger and stronger than Luke, also really liked Jessie. He was jealous but cooled himself and decided to brush it off as a small matter, thinking that it wouldn't turn into a relationship. Unfortunately for Bernard, things turned out quite the opposite and he decided to confront Luke.
Bernard decided to find a time when Luke was alone and confront him. 'Hey punk! You're Luke right?!' Bernard shouted, he was following Luke home! Following that, a punch came towards Luke. Luke expertly blocked the punch and and threw in a lethal elbow strike towns Bernard's jaw. Luckily, it wasn't severe but enough to get Bernard scrambling away. Bernard wanted to get his revenge and signed up for a Mixed Martial Arts(MMA) club the next day.
To boost his chance of winning Jessie, Bernard brought Jessie to watch a movie and gave her a free meal. Jessie appreciated that but still it was no use as Jessie would go out with Luke almost everyday.
