Heavy raindrops showered down...
Jessie had forgotten to bring her umbrella and Luke wasn't in school as he was sick. Coming towards Jessie was Lucifer, a bit fitter than Luke, had very fair skin with light blue-coloured eyes.
'Jessie, I am Lucifer, I see you have forgotten your umbrella. I have an extra. Do you mind using mine?' said Lucifer, flashing a bright smile.
Jessie blushed and gladly borrowed his umbrella. Thanking him quickly after reaching her block, she felt charmed...
She shrugged off the feeling, thinking that it was just her mind. She was just about to go and bath when her phone rang. It's was Luke on the other end of the line. Luke asked if she was safe at home but Jessie did not answer and instead asked him how he was. Luke was lying in bed, on high fever and he could barely say anything.
He said "Love ya, ttyl." and then he hung up.
Jessie took a quick shower and realized that she had forgotten to take her towel, too focused trying to find a way to help Luke. She dashed out of the toilet and rushed into her room to retrieve her towel.
She had initially thought of buying Luke a small gift but she changed her mind to paying Luke a visit. She wanted to stay beside until he had recovered. Just as she was about to take a cab, she saw one of her friend's sister getting into her car nearby. She walked briskly towards her and asked if she could get a free ride. The answer was obvious, yes. When she reached Luke's block, she thanked her profusely before proceeding to Luke's house. She had also prepared some porridge for him, hoping that he'll recover fast.
She reached Luke's house and luckily his father wasn't around and would be out till midnight. Luke staggered to the door and opened it for Jessie. Jessie closed the door and was sure to lock it before going to help Luke to his room. Luke sat up and Jessie gave him some porridge. He finished it quick, too quick. He gave Jessie a warm hug, thanking her. Jessie blushed lightly. Luke laid back down and had some rest. Jessie soon dozed off beside him, holding onto his arm. Soon, Jessie jolted up, realizing that it was already 5.30pm, her mother reaching home soon.
She opened the door, locked it and threw placed the key under the house mat. She sent a message to Luke, telling him about the location of his house key. When she reached home, she checked the time, it was only 5.55pm and her mom would reach home at around 6.15pm. She heaved a sigh of relief.
She prayed hard for Luke, hoping that he will get better. It hurt her. She went to her room, closed the door and fell into a deep sleep. As always, her nightmares were more terrifying than anything else. In her mere 15 minutes sleep, she had dreamt that Luke and she were being brought to a dark enclosed cell with a stench which smelled like rotten fish mixed with some garbage. They were in two different cells. Luke was first taken out and was beheaded in front of her. She was then being dragged faraway to a hell-like area. There was a pit of lava in the center of the circular area with fire around the pit. Something or someone from behind gave her a push and she fell into the fire, vanishing from sight. Jessie immediately sat up, jolted from nightmare. She has been like this since she was a toddler. She would always get different nightmares.
