(I SHALL TELL YOU WHEN TO PLAY THE SONG, THEN PLAY IT OKAY. THE SONG IS MY IMMORTAL BY EVANESCENCE IF THAT DOESN'T WORK. PLEASE PLAY IT, THE MOOD NEEDS TO BE SET. VERY IMPORTANT)

Nothing happened after hours on end. Ben and I both seemed to be tense. Every time I looked at him he seemed anxious. I sneezed two hours ago, and he almost struck me. He shivered after his actions and walked away. I paused for a couple of seconds, then followed.

Somewhere in the distance, a clock tower struck two times: two am.

It was as if I knew what was coming. The second the two chimes went off, I felt my body seizing. My breath pushed itself out of my throat faster and faster, I was almost choking on the air around me.

Ben held me as I hacked away at the air. I tried to fight him, I pulled and scratched, I screamed and tried to spit in his face. Panic overwhelmed me as he pressed my arms down at my side. Lack of sleep and fear had clouded my mind, and I saw him as a threat.

"Grace!" Ben called,"Look at me!"

I fearfully spun to face him. He forcefully pushed his lips against mine. I started protesting, but eventually melted into him. My fingers somehow found themselves tangled in his hair.

(PLAY MY IMMORTAL BY EVANESCENCE HERE, ITS AT THE TOP BUT SEARCH IT UP IF IT DOESN'T WORK THEN COME BACK)

A few minutes later, I pulled my hands out of his hair. They were covered in a sticky, dark red substance.

Blood.

Ben and I stared at each other for a good 15 seconds. He finally pulled his eyes away and looked at my hand. I knelt down to wipe it on the grass that was next to the road, and then walked on. A few moments later I heard him follow me.

All memories of that kiss were lost during those 5 minutes that followed.

It started when I sensed that we were being watched. I turned my head to check and see if anyone was there. 'Course, from all of those horror movies that young'uns always be watching, you could tell that that was not going to help. Nevertheless I looked around, and like the naive girl that I was , when I saw nothing I turned back.

Seconds later I heard steps pounding behind me. Ben turned, and I saw a flash of fear on his face. I saw nothing behind us however so I assumed that the noise was just me hearing things because of lack of sleep.

That's when it happened.

I didn't actually see it, but heard Ben make a sound as if he'd been strangled. I looked at him.

Flesh hung loose from his neck where what looked like fangs had cut in. Dark red blood tinged with unnatural purple dripped from the wound. Ben muttered something incoherent and hit the ground. I screamed and fell to my knees.

(HOPEFULLY YOU'RE AT THE CHORUS OF THE SONG NOW)

"Ben! Ben, please answer me. Let me know that you are okay. Please Ben, you can't just leave me here all alone, I'm nothing without you!"

Ben only managed to point towards his pocket where there was a large bulge. I reached in and pulled out a small box. I gasped.

Inside was a platinum ring with a shimmering diamond upon it.

"Ben - I" I was too choked up to utter another word.

Ben struggled to speak. "I-I have always loved you, Grace. From the moment I set my eyes on you I knew that you were going to be something special. When we finally got to know each other, I couldn't stop thinking about you, you always consumed my mind. That's when - when I knew that you were the one. For me." Ben sighs painfully, and a tear drips down my cheek. "I've always tried to keep you safe Grace, but I guess that's when I forgot about keeping me safe too."

"Ben, no. No, you can't die on me. We have a future. What happened to the plans that we made? What will I do now?"

Ben weakly smiles, "You can find someone else to go on those great adventures we always planned."

"NO! I DON'T WANT TO FIND ANYONE ELSE. I WANT TO BE WITH YOU!"

"Sometimes people leave us halfway through the woods, Grace." Ben's eyes begin to close, and I desperately shake him.

"By the way, Grace?"

"Yes?"

"Will you marry me?"

I manage to smile even while the tears course down my face. "Of course I will marry you."

"Good." Ben says, eyes closed with a peaceful smile on his face, "Now I can go happily."

He went limp in my arms, and I knew that he was gone.

Wow. That was... painful to write. I didn't want Ben to die, really I didn't. That really hurt cause I genuinely liked him a lot. But I guess these two were just doomed from the beginning.

I updated this cause I don't know when I will be able to again. As you know, I'm working on Little Red for the just write it horror, and I'm kinda too busy for four stories. I'm barely managing three.

I hope that was interesting for you thought it was really sad.

Rest in Peace, kind Ben
