LOCKWOOD POV
Her beautiful face looked at mine, eyes sparkling, hair fluttering in the wind, even though it was the middle of summer. But that didn't matter. She was astounding. I now realised, all this time what I had been missing. Her. All those awkward silences meant something now. The times where I would scold myself for looking at her out of the corner of my eye for no apparent reason.
I sputtered out six words. The most six beautiful words I had heard in my life.
"Lucy Joan Carlyle, I love ❤ you." With that she bent down and kissed me. Her lips were cold and soft, but beautiful and enthralling All the same. I could hear George shouting at me, but it all just faded into muffles. I then stared up at Lucy, but she wasn't the Lucy I'd just kissed. She was a corpse, her rib cage crumbling to pieces.
oh. I had been such an idiot. And now I was going to die 💀.
