  Hazels P.O.V

Of course the impossibly gorgeous boy in front of me wasn't human. Here we were running for our lives, in a forest that had once seemed home to me. This had began like an entirely normal morning, but had ultimately ended with my nemesis yelling my name for blood.  So let me begin from the beginning, so you can see how my life now seems to be coming straight from a fairy tail.

"Are you nervous?" I asked the boy who had stolen my heart. His family had moved in with me, courtesy of my mother, so I wouldn't have to fend for myself the next few months she'll be leaving for work.

"Considering this is my first time in a public school, yes." Dylan answered me, giving my hand a squeeze. And before you start making conclusions, we were not dating.

He just held my hand as we crossed the street to our school. I let out a little sigh of disappointment, but covered it with a yawn as he let go of my hand. I subtly moved closer to him, so that our arms touched slightly. Let everyone see me, the weird girl walking with the exotic new boy. Ooo, let's see how Madeline acts now. She has practically dated every boy dry. This piece of exotic piece of guy will have her sure running for him. I shuddered. That wouldn't be good.

"What's wrong?" His aqua eyes searched my violet ones. Yes, thats what I mean by weird, and exotic.

He noticed! "Well, there's this girl named Madeline Gibson. And lets just say that she's the most...popular. And she's not exactly in my fan club either. Actually, nobody's in my fan club, thanks to her. And she usually waits for me here, to um...bully me." I awkwardly explained.

I looked around, and to my surprise, she was nowhere to be seen. I frowned. This isn't good either. I looked at Dylan, his face deep in thoughts. I shook my head over to the grand entrance, snapping him out of his thoughts. Time for him to experience a public high school.

I rubbed my cheeks, they hurt so much! I've never laughed so much before! All day, Madeline failed to appear. The other students then were hanging out with me and Dylan. And Dylan... he made me feel so happy, the days of invisibility are over. We were walking home, well, speed walking was more like it.  The clouds ahead looked so dark it seemed to me that it could rain for days.   A faint chill hung in the air, making it unsettling with the mist that had started to gather. But still, Dylan and I kept talking and laughing. We were soon in front of Mr. Rogers  intoxicating red roses.

I looked at them with such envy. No matter how hard I tried, I could never get my roses to smell as sweet. I finally noticed that Dylan was no longer to my side. Looking back, I saw he was picking one.... "For you. For the rose I made you drop when we first had met. I'm still very sorry, m'lady." He bowed to me, his dark locks covering his face, and a rose pointed toward me.

I smiled sweetly, remembering the rose I had in fact left behind when he had hit me with a soccer ball. I accepted the new rose, droplets of dew gathered in it's blood red petals. I grabbed the tips of my uniform skirt, and curtsied to him. "Thank you, my darling...friend." Blood rushed to my face, I hadn't meant to say that.

Nether less, he smiled. Showing a row of perfectly straight white teeth.  A rumble passed overhead, and the first drops of rain fell. They pierced my skin, like freezing cold arrows. Suddenly, Dylan grabbed my arms. "What does Madeline look like Hazel?" His stare looked panic, but serious.

"W-why?" I asked, seeming like this was out of the blue.

His aqua eyes searched my own, and replied," Because if she's who I think she is, well, we don't have a lot of time left."

His answer send chills down my back. He grabbed my wrist and started running with me. "She has these grey eyes, luscious red lips,  and platinum hair. She also has pale skin, but hers has a more... rosy look to it. She reeks of floral perfume too."

"And... we might just make it alive then. She's the one." And he fell silent. He ran faster, dragging me with him. Thank god I had skinny legs, and a willowy build. Otherwise there be no way that I'd be able to keep up.

"What do... you mean?" My breath came out in short gasps, never having used my full speed before. Distinctly, I saw the trees and shrubs blurring past me. I might have been running about ten miles an hour. Impossible.

Dylan instead of answering, halted all of a sudden. "We ran out of time. I'm sorry Hazel, that I had to tell you like this. But she's coming too fast. I don't want you to get confused and hurt." His hand cupped my cheek, and I faintly noticed how perfect his hand seemed to mold to my cheek.

"What? What are you talking about? I'm confused already Dylan!" I accidentally shouted. I didn't like the energy he was giving out.

"This will be very hard to comprehend, but I just want you to listen. You can ask all the questions you want later when we have time, okay?" He looked at me to nod. "I...I am not human. I'm an angel. A Cherubim to be exact. And you, you are a half angel. Half Cherubim. I did not come here to make a new life with Oprah.  My real name is Meeks.  Oprah isn't my aunt, but a highly skilled Virtue, assigned to come to Earth with me. Her name is Opal. And Madeline is a fallen angel wanting to kill you."
