Chapter 4

My eyes stayed on the two shadowy figures until I could figure out who they were... rogues indeed, but they were in human forms. I started to panic, what am I suppose to do?

"What do we have here? Another small meal to take care of." One of them said as their eyes stared at me, making me shiver. I started running, filled with panic, unsure of what to do. When I opened my eyes for all my panic, the rogues had transformed meaning that I have no change against them.

They stared at me amused that I would even try to run away from them. I pushed them and snared at them telling them to leave me alone. I ran for my life, search the forest for my parents that said they were almost here.

'HELP' I mentally screamed in my mind, hoping that my parents heard me somehow.

'What's wrong dear?'

'Mother, I'm so glad-' my sentence was cut off as I find myself trapped. There was a pack of rogues now not to mention how fast they are. What am I going to do? My parents won't get to me in time and I can't fight a pack a rogue when I just shifted, not knowing how.

Help! I screamed in my mind but I got no reply. Now what?

I hate being inexpensive, being like a dumb cub. The rogues snared hungrily, she's going to be dead now. A huge rogue pounded at her, mouth wide ready for some nice dinner. I dodged it quickly, I may be inexpensive but I'm smart enough to dodge an attack. My neck felt rough, clawed by someone? who? I turned my head in time to see all the other rogues smile as they all pound toward her ready to get their meal.

I'll never be able to see my parents...but...I don't have any friends anyway. Sorry mother and father, you had taken care of me for this long, I will miss you. I closed my eyes as I got ready to die, I landed flat on my back onto the ground.

Am I in heaven? is this how it feels like? Pain rush through me. Wait, dead people don't feel pain, am I still alive? Did my parent came in time. I opened my eyes, expecting to see my parents, but instead Nathan Charles was standing there. 

Anger rush through me, why did he have to save me. I tried to get to my feet but my neck badly like I never felt before. I settle back onto the ground as I closed my eyes. I feel so useless. I wonder why he have to get the the middle of everything.

"Don't even complain about this, just stay here like a good old cat and wait for your parents to come." Yea, right. He left quickly in wolf form, into the forest. Great, he really have to make me stay here until my parents come?

My father will be yelling at me for taking off into the forest and my mother will give me looks that makes me feel so sorry for what I did. Why did he come anyway, I don't need his help at all. Well, sort of but couldn't it be my parents that came to rescue me?

I waited for my parents patiently as I was told, not liking it but what else can I do? I just closed my eyes and feeled the pain as my parents take me home. The riding was actually pretty comfortable and my parents didn't say anything, they can't anyway. I fell asleep, I couldn't feel pain and I was really gratefully for as I dreamed about what would happen once I get home.
