"Lucinda! Lucinda Roswell!"

I was shocked awake. I sat upright on my bed and saw that my ever so lovely mother, Helen Genieva, standing by my bedroom door, arms crossed. Looking at her watch, she said, "Lucinda, so you know that you have school today? It's already past 7 and you are still in bed.". I groaned.

She lifted her eyes off the watch and look at me. The moment our eyes met, she cringed sympathetically and asked, "Still the same nightmare?".

Wordlessly, I nodded.

"Then I shall call the school saying that you are unwell. is it alright with you dear?". My mother looked at me, concern written all over her face.

Remembering my promise to Jace, I shook my head, insisting that I am alright and mumbling something about having to make a good impression to the professors. My mother was not convinced but she went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast anyway.

I got out of my bed and was ready within seconds, I grabbed my breakfast that was on the dining table, and I was about to step out of my house when my father, Alex Dakanian, stopped me.

Yes, that Alex Dakanian.

My father smiled brightly to me and announced,"Lucy dear, I will be driving you to school today since you are running late.".Before I could reject his offer, I found myself seated at the back of the car and my father at the driver seat, ready to drive me off to school. As the engine roar up to life, my father reminded me,"Lucy, please be careful.". I never knew what he meant.

My name is Lucinda Caviourine Dakanian. The only child of Helen Genevia and Alex Dakanian. My family is one of the Talented and this year, I am sixteen.

As for my father, Alex Dakanian, he was once a model when he was younger, and now he is a film director. He has won several awards for his films. My father is well-known in his line of work because he produces award-worthy films.

As for my father being a model, that is kind of an embarrassing thing. You know it is embarrassing when the old ladies in the stores starts ogle at my father whenever he was at the mart with me.

That was when I decided to go to the mart alone and those ladies were disappointed, of course. But that did not deter them to show me a magazine of my father posing for the front page.

I would have found it attractive but that half-naked person is my father. And that is very disturbing. So I began to avoid all those ladies.

My mother, Helen Genieva, is a professor who major in Shakespeare plays. She has produced a novel, titled 'Juliet me.' After that book was published, it topped off charts and within a week, it became the best seller book. Because of that, she won the best writer award for that year.

We have been moving to many places because of my father's work. But this time, both my parents decided to settle in Gold Coast, Australia. I have felt like I belong here in Australia since we settled there. It feels as though the land is calling out to me and I felt peace there.

Since then, we have been staying here for two years. My father bought the house which has all kinds of facilities that rich people are expected to have. And the best thing is, there's a beach in front of our house.

"We are here, Lucinda," my father announced. "Can I trust that you would get home safely?" He asked.

"Yes, father. I will. I gave you my words that no harm will come to me.". I flashed a smile. Before I could bade him good-bye, he had drove away, leaving dusts in his wake. I sighed and began to make my way into the school.

Every year, we would have a new batch of students enrolling into the school. Even though I have spent two years going to the school, I still cannot get rid of the uneasy feeling of being surrounded by people that I do not know. It makes me want to run away and hide, as though I was being cornered.
