You're dating Luke but Ashton likes you.
You had been best friends with Ashton since you were little kids, and even though you were grown up now, nothing really changed. You went to school together, you graduated together, and you helped form Ashton's band, 5 Seconds of Summer. Although Michael, Calum, and Luke were very close with Ash, you were his all time best friend. What you didn't know was that Ashton had developed feelings for you over the years. You had always thought of him like the close brother you never had so the possibility of you two dating never really crossed your mind. Plus, Luke had asked you out last month and of course you said yes since you were getting to know him better, being that he and Ashton were band mates. Things were going really well so far and you felt like maybe your relationship was heading somewhere.

You decided to visit the guys at the studio today, since you hadn't seen them in a few days and you were really curious about the songs on the new album. "It's Aly!" Luke called out cheerfully as you entered the building. "Hey guys! How's the album coming along?" You ask Luke, giving him a hug and kissing him. "It's awesome. We're adding a lot more electric guitar to the new songs and Ashton has way more solos. It's different but we think it sounds pretty great." You smile, excited to be able to hear everything before it was officially released. Calum and Michael walk out of the sound-proof booth to give you a quick hug, but Ashton stays inside which is pretty odd. (PANIC! REFERENCE WHADDUP).
"Ash looks kinda upset. Is he ok?" You ask Luke, concerned. Luke sits down on one of the couches and takes a swig of his water before answering. "Honestly we have no idea. For the past couple of days he's been acting strange. Like he's more contained and not as pumped about recording as he was a few weeks ago. Even with all his new solos he's acting mellow about it." Your boyfriend replies, running a hand through his quiff. "That's weird, I'm gonna go talk to him." You say before giving Luke a kiss on the cheek and walking into the booth. "Oh hey, Aly." Ashton says with little emotion in his voice as you enter the room. "Hey! I was talking to Luke and he said you have more solos on the upcoming album, that's awesome!" "Yeah, thanks." He says blankly before reaching down to get his bottle of water. "Um...are you ok, Ashton? You see kinda out of it today." You ask, walking over to give him a hug. "Yeah I'm fine, just a little distracted. That's all." He says, looking at you. "Oh well I'm sorry. But don't worry because the guys let me listen to a few recordings so far and you sound awesome. And after you're done here we can go out for pizza or something, to help you relax a bit." you tell him, trying to make him feel better. "Sounds good (FEELS GOOD OHH), I just have a few more things to record and we can go." "Alright, hurry up because now I'm craving pizza." You give him one more hug before exiting the booth and going back to Luke. "How is he?" Luke asks as you take a seat next to him. "He said he's a little distracted today but he didn't mention why." "Oh, weird. At least he's ok."
Ashton finished and walked out to meet you and the rest of the boys in the lounge. "Uh guys, I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it for pizza. Sorry, maybe some other time."
"Aw, Ash. Why not?" You ask, a little disappointed. "I just realized I have a lot to do and I don't think I have time to go out. I'll talk to you later." He says finally, and walks out the door. "He's acting ridiculous today! He's definitely upset about something, I don't care how much he denies it," Michael says putting his guitar away. You feel a little bad for Ashton. Something must be bothering him if he passed up the opportunity to hang out with you after not seeing you for a while. And he had told you just a few days ago that he really wanted to spend time with you. "Hey guys, I'm gonna go talk to him again. I'll be right back." "Good luck." Luke replies as you run outside to find Ashton. "Ashton! Hold up a sec!" You yell as you see him getting into his car. You take a seat in the passenger side once you reach the car and turn to face him. "Ashton what's up with you? On Tuesday you said you really wanted to see me so I come to the studio to see you and you act strange. Then I invite you and the guys out for pizza and you say yes but decline later, and you've been one word answering my texts for like a week. Please just tell me what's going on." You say softly, but forcefully enough to pry some answers out of him. "Aly, it's nothing! Honestly, I've just been...never mind. I'm fine I swear." He says, shooting you a fake smile. "Ash," you start, moving a little closer to him. "I've known you for as long as I can remember. I know the difference between your real and fake smile. You were gonna say you've 'been' something. Please finish that sentence." You insist, holding his hand. "Ok you want the truth?" He finally opens up. "Yes, Ash, I really do." "Ok fine. Here goes nothing," he continues. "You are my best friend. In the whole world. But I want something more than that and I have for years. And just as I'm about to make my move, just as I finally build up enough courage to ask the girl of my dreams out on a date, Luke has to get in the way and steal you from me. I know you're not my property and you can date whoever you want, but it just kills me to see you with Luke. I'm not expecting you to break up with him for me and I'm certainly not expecting you to feel the same way. I just-" you cut him off by kissing him with all the feeling and passion you possible could. It was in that moment that you realized how obvious it all was. Luke was an amazing guy, but he definitely didn't get you as well as Ashton. Ash had seen you cry, laugh, and smile, he danced with you when your date ditched you at prom, he came over to your house at 2 am when you couldn't fall asleep. You couldn't believe how blind you were for not seeing that he was the perfect guy for you, and has been all along. You broke away from the kiss and looked into his beautiful hazel eyes. "Ashton, I'm really sorry. I mean for not seeing this all along. I guess I just always thought of you as the big brother I never had so I didn't think about the fact that something could happen between us." Ashton was at a loss of words. "Does this mean...like..." He finally started speaking. You smiled. "Yeah. It means I'll call things off with Luke. You're the one for me." You reply as you kiss him again.
