"THE NEXT NATASHA GIRL"

🎧 Phoebe 🎧

I sat on the verge of the long wooden bench near the huge green field of VanAllen University. I guess banging my head a bunch of times won't change anything, and wishing I was dead isn't happening yet so I tried slapping my face. I did it a couple times before I'm finally convinced that I really did wreck a rich man's car. And get this, I needed to buy the exact same thing. My parents couldn't even afford my tuition fee!

My name is Phoebe Miller, currently losing it.

"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET MORE MONEY!?"

Shit.

I said that out loud.

Too loud that the soccer players gave me their complete attention.

"What's wrong with her?"

"Maybe she's lacking of finance."

"Should we help her?"

"Nah! Looks like she is in someone's possession now."

I can hear you!

Hold on, what do they mean by in someone's possession? Am I--? Oh my God.

"... From this day forward, I crown you as my new Natasha girl."

Natasha girl...
What's that supposed to mean?

ARGH! This can't be happening to me! I was so happy yesterday.

I'm living my usual life.

"Pheebz! You coming?" Avril said just as she stand up.

"Yeah. Hold on a sec. I'm just gonna finish this." I said, moving my left hand as fast as I could.

"Oh come now, Pheebz, Avril and I took a photo of the lesson. You can just copy that from there. Come on! We're hungry." Jane said.

"No. Directly writing it down helps me memorize the lecture quickly. So, on the day of the exams, all I can do is trust my stock knowledge." I said, glancing at the slide projector after them.

"Phoebe, even if you don't write 'em down, you still get the highest score. You have an eidetic memory so may we please eat now?"

"You guys aren't helping me finish faster."

They both sighed, and sat beside me.

"And besides, I can't afford to lose my scholarship. My dad just lost his job, and mom is still searching for one."

"Ah Pheebz. Your life is based on a drama skit." Avril commented.

"Yeah, I'm just glad you're surviving this!" Jane added.

In some ways, they're right. I'd read about this kind of situation in most books. Though most of it ends right about the same. Some people gave up, some committed suicide, and some did both. But I won't let my life end like those in the movies, or books.
