Dans eyes widened as he heard that he had gotten paired with one of the most popular boys in school. he turned to look behind him at the black haired boy to see him with an expression identical to his own.
did Mr. Joseph plan this? For what reason? this makes no sense. I just I- Dans thoughts were interrupted by Mr. Joseph telling everyone to go to their partners and discuss what to do for their assignment. Dan hesitantly stood up and walked towards the popular boy.
"Hi" Dan said, pushing his glasses up and fixing his fringe. he pulled up a chair and sat down. he started scratching up and down on his arms, a habit of his that he only seemed to do when he was nervous.
"so what do you wanna work on?" Phil asked, ignoring the brown haired boys greeting. The two boys thought for a while but then Mr. Joseph called our attention.
"here are some topics you can base your project about. history, song lyrics, human rights-" and then the two boys stopped listening. both of them were thinking the same thing. Phil whispered to Dan,
"let's do it about song lyrics. any song ideas?" he said. Dan sneakily took up his phone to look through his music library.
"you know how Mr. Joseph was in a band with the other music teacher?" he asked Phil. he nodded, letting Dan know that he could continue.
"we could do something from them. I'm not gonna lie, I love the music they made. plus, it might get us extra credit. so-" Dan continued, but he was interrupted.
"okay sure, I like a few of their songs so let's talk about this after school. my place?"
"I-"
"okay, rad. class is over. goodbye" he stood up and the bell rang as soon as he opened the door. Dan gathered his stuff up and walked away, headed for the cafeteria.
"hey Dan!" Dan heard his friend shout from across the cafeteria. he looked his way, then walked out of line.
skipping lunch again won't hurt he thought.
he sat down with his friends. he looked at Connor, Ben and PJ with a fond look on his face. he cherished his friends and would do nearly anything for them.
"no food?" Dan heard someone say and looked up. he saw the counselor, Mr. Way, staring at the empty spaces between everyone at the table. they all shook their heads.
"not hungry" Connor said, answering for all of them.
"alright, okay" he said, walking away.
"that was weird. we almost never eat, why would he bring it up this time?" Pj said (more like asked, really). Dan, ben and Connor shrugged their shoulders. but Ben was distracted looking at the table of populars. Tyler, Troye, Ryan, Joe and Phil. Ben was looking straight at Ryan, watching his every move.
"Ben, Ben" Dan said, snapping his fingers in front of Bens face.
"your gay is showing" Connor said, laughing. Ben blushed, hitting him.
"is it really that obvious?" Ben asked after a while, sighing and looking once more at the boy with the lip ring a table over. the other three boys nodded, leaving Ben to put his head in his hands. Ben took his head out of his hands to look at Ryan again, noticing that he was looking at him aswell. Ryan blushed and quickly turned away. Ben started hitting Connor and pj repeatedly.
"guys. guys guys guys guysguysguys. he was looking at me. then he blushed. then he turned away. what the fuck" he said. Dan started laughing and checked the time, seeing that it was time to go. he got up and said bye to his friends, walking towards his next class.
