Everyone was in the room now, excited to see Perla.
“Omg she’s so cute awww” Tatiana said as she entered the room followed by the others.
“OMG she’s finally here!!!!!! She’s gorgeous!!” April said smiling.
“Awww I’m finally an aunt omgggg she’s so adorable!” Nadiah said smiling. Jacob was smiling so hard. Our baby was so gorgeous. She took Jacob’s everything! She has his hair, his mouth and his ears. She took my eyes and face. She’s so gorgeous I was so happy to finally hold my baby, my creation, my world from now. Everyone was so happy. Jacob’s mom was in tears also the girls. And then… we heard a knock at the door. And then someone entered… IT WAS MY FATHER. What was he doing here? I thought… I thought he didn’t want to see me again? Everyone was surprised. Me even more…
“What… what are you doing here?” I asked, surprised.
“I came to see… my beautiful grandchild” he said smiling. A tear fell down on my cheek.
“Oh so it’s now you remember that you have a grandchild?? Do you even know that you have a daughter?”
“Beyona… if I came it’s because I wanted to apologize… I shouldn’t have reacted this way towards you and also Jacob… I’m so sorry baby, all the time you were gone, I’ve realized that, im nothing without my baby. You’re my blood Beyona and I love you. I’m sorry sweetie… Please forgive me… Jacob please forgive me… I’m sorry if I beat you that day and called you names… I wasn’t me. I’m sorry” he said with tears in his eyes. I wasn’t even mad at him anymore. I was too happy now. I just decided to let it go.
“I love you daddy” I said smiling and crying. I opened my arms and he hugged me so tight. They were “awwwing” us. He then gave a hug to Jacob and took Perla.
“Omg she’s flawless. You guys did a great job!” he said. We smiled. They spent all the afternoon with us and then started leaving. It was like 01AM. Jacob was still there. Auntie Teresa left with Agnes. They said they will come back tomorrow. Jacob decided to sleep there with me. The nurse has put Perla as sleep. I was so tired. Jacob was out to get me some food. And then he came back.
“Hey there you go!” he said posing the food on the bed.
“Thank you Jay I’m starving!” I said and he smiled. I then started eating. It was quiet between us and really awkward. I guess we’ve accomplished our parental role. Except from that, we don’t have anything to share. Perla is our connection from now.
“Beyona please I wanna us to talk” he said.
“Ok, about?” I said, eating.
“Us”
“Us?” I chuckled.
“What’s funny?”
“The funny thing is that us don’t exist anymore have you forgotten?”
“That’s exactly what I wanna talk about. Beyona we have a child now. Don’t you think it’s time for us to put everything behind us and focus on our beautiful life with Perla?”
