One by one

Animila's Pov

(I pretty much wrote this half asleep. More like 3/4 asleep. Sorry for any mistakes.)

Days pass and everything is somewhat fine. No one has stepped outside the cave but me and I stay hidden. The trick seems to have worked perfectly. My feelings are locked away and the key was thrown.

We all have what we need to survive. And really for a group of teens who at one point or another lived on their own we pretty much know how to survive for a while.

One thing bothers me though. The lack of commotion. Everything seems still which bothers me. No doubt He is looking for us so why is everything so calm. I mean not that I wish my own capture but he has a magic seeking vine, creatures with a great sense of smell and powers that help him sense our essence. Calm is not good right now. He's up to something.

And I don't like it.

"Animila."

I see Blaze standing in front of me.

"Yes." I answer.

"You blanked out." Blaze says.

"Sorry I was just thinking." I reply.

"About what?" He questions. They all have been more worried about me ever since I did that trick.

"Something is not right. Everything is too easy." I say.

"I agree." Blaze responds surprising me. I thought I was the only one.

"What should we do then?" Fauna asks.

"I say that we go deeper into the cave. More mazes and tunnels." I answer.

"Seems good to me." Aqua says.

"We're in." The twins say.

Blaze nods his head.

"Then let's go." I say.

We pack up our things and they follow me deeper in to the cave.

The further we go the darker if is naturally. But because I'm a hybrid I can see well in the dark. Though my friends can't. I light a torch and hold it up so everyone can see. I pass multiple torches put on the wall by me and I light them as I pass them. Thank goodness I thought things through as a kid.

I get a shiver down my back suddenly. Not the 'I'm cold' type but the 'something dangerous is coming' type. Not good.

"Come on guys something is not right. I can feel it." I say walking faster.

The panic feeling grows as I start to hear faint sounds normal people can't hear. Only an animal can hear that sound. It's far away but if sounds close. It sounds dangerous.

"Guys..." I say in a slightly worried tone. I want them to be ok.

"Animila what's going on?" Aqua asks.

Before I can answer I hear growling and a loud scream. I turn to see those wolf creatures holding an unconscious Flora on their back. Well on one of their backs really. The creature runs away with Flora.

"FLORA!!" Fauna screams.

I grab Fauna and pull her. We start running as fast as we can. I hope we can lose them in a tunnel. We hear them chasing us but don't dare to look back.

Suddenly all the torches go out and I hear another scream. I look back and see Fauna is not behind me anymore. Luckily Blaze and Aqua are still in front of me.

How in the world did the lights go off. I try not to panic but I run quicker. I pull my two remaining friends in to a small tunnel where we have to crawl and the creatures can't follow.

We get to the end and we are in the forest again.

"Stay ahead of me and run." I say breathing heavily.

They nod and run. Though we are more opened in the forest, we have more options in where we can run. We can lose the creatures easier.

I hear my friends heavy breathing. They are just as scared as I am. We are getting picked off one by one. Damn Alric is serious about this.

We keep on running but we reach a big tree in the middle. Like a wall.

"We have to climb." I say.

Aqua climbs first and I go after her. We hear growling behind us and see that we are surrounded by those creatures. Blaze makes a fire sword and swipes it at them.

"Blaze let's go. Stop please." I say.

"Just go don't worry about me." He says.

I know that look.

"Don't you dare think about surrendering. Get your flame butt up here now." I say sternly.

"JUST GO!" He yells at me. He never yelled at me.

I know I can't change his mind. I just hope he gets away.

Aqua and I continue climbing. We climb high enough to jump from tree to tree. It's safer than the ground.

I don't hear Blaze. That means he lost.

I try not to let my sadness get the best of me.

"Come on. We need to keep moving." I say.

Aqua nods and we keep on moving.

How are we going to get out of this?
