We both stayed silent after the little outburst and I can see stupid Dave wasn't too happy about it. He cleared his throat for the hundredth time today and popped his fingers. "Ms. Lee, sit down right this instant or else pray to God that I wouldn't lock you up in jail!" Okay I didn't want to oblige. Never would I have though to agree with this dickhead but I had to. For Toby. I was found out and I have to act fast. They fucking went to my house and searched me Now what do I do? Toby, what do I do?
"I do not like you talking to me by that language Ms. Lee. We are supposed to be discussing a possible crime here and you refuse to take things seriously. Tell.Us.What.You.Know" Well look here big guy! I don't even know what I know! I'm confused as you because what he said in the letter was full of things I didn't understand. Peckers and werewolves. They don't even exist!
"Da...Sheriff I'm being honest here. I don't know a single thing, I found that letter in my room on the bed before I even knew Toby was missing" Dave stared at me for a moment, then finally he seemed to have realized that I was telling the truth because he sighed and stood up.
"Thank you for your participation Ms. Lee. You may get back to your classes now" I rolled my eyes and walked away, making sure to slam the door hard when I left. I just needed some air.

I have never felt the rush to get home until today, there was no use if I would hurry home on a normal days since I leave for Toby's house the second after I drop my things. But this time there was no Toby to run to so I had to do one thing that could not only spare me but Toby's life too. Where ever he is, I need to find him. I dropped my bike on the sidewalk and rushed inside, taking the stairs two at the time. I needed to see if it was still there. When I opened my room I was shocked to see the inside.
The inside of my closet was out on the floor, my bed not in its usual spot, my room was a mess as if a tornado managed to get inside and wrecked everything. "No...No" I took big strides towards my messy closet and reached up to the top shelf and rummaged my hands until I got to the last box and pulled it out. My heart leaped when I saw it. I couldn't believe my eyes, the letter was here when I thought it was taken away by the police. The letter that was left for Toby was never opened and read, but then how did Dave know? Why was my room this dirty? When I turned around I found my window wide open, cold gustling wind rushed inside. Maybe it was someone else?
"Mom? Dad?" I didn't see them when I entered the house, and thinking about it there was no noise of shouting and glass breaking. Where are my parents? Quickly I slipped the letter in my pocket and went out of my room, first I checked the living room and surely enough it was empty, the TV was off and there was no sign of disturbance. Next I checked their room and I found the bed made but there was no mother or father.
I fetched for my phone and rummaged my contacts but I found out that I didn't have their numbers saved. What? Surely I'll have their numbers since, you know, they're my parents! They do this sometimes, after a fight one of them leaves the house and never come back for a few weeks, but I prayed that they wouldn't leave me right now. Please not now. I didn't know what to do. No Toby, no parents. I refused to cry but I there was nothing left to do.
Then the house phone started ringing, I snapped away from my state and hurried to the kitchen where the phone is and wished it was my mom calling for me, but what greeted me sent shivers down my spine. I almost dropped my phone but I held tight.
A foul laugh echoed through the line and I shivered, "Who's this?" the laugh continued and I started to get annoyed. "Whoever this is, it's not funny. Cut to the chase will you, what are you a hyena?"
"Funny, little Bree" Oh.
I chuckled nervously, "Who's this? Answer me!"
He continued laughing but he breaks away after a while, "Hush, Little Bree. I'm not here to harm you. Let's just make a little conversation, doesn't that shirt look good on you?"
My blood ran cold. He can see me, who ever this is is somewhere near. "I'm calling the police" I started to reach for my phone but the man on the line snorted, "Don't bother. Those nutjobs won't do a thing if you called" Somehow, I knew this was true. I'm helpless.
"Awh. Poor little Bree. Afraid, baby?" He laughed and sighed, as if wiping a stray tear. "I told you, I'm not here to hurt you. Not yet. But I will trust me, but not today. I just need to tell you something, something valuable of yours" My parents!
"Where are they, you lunatic! Where's my parents?"
He shushed me and chuckled softly, but his voice became deeper. "Run. Run, little Bree. Move those little legs of yours and run away. Before I get to you" then the line cut. My heart palpitated in my chest so hard I thought it would explode. Then suddenly, I know he was outside by the house. I can feel his presence like a magnet refusing to collide with the other, I needed to get away before I got sucked in. Out of instinct, I ran. The only thing I grabbed was my phone and my parent's car keys and I rushed out, not even bothering to lock the door, I just left and took their car. As if breaking the law of how sound waves travel, I heard his one last long ugly laugh in my car and I tried covering my head while driving. What's happening? How?
"See you, Little Bree"
Then I was zooming away to safety. Away from my home and to somewhere where I hope no one can find me.
