No one really knows her....

Chapter 3: She gets a boyfriend

2 months later... Iris's POV

I was walking in the hallway. My backpack was halfway open because I was rushing out of 7th period trying to head to 8th period. No one really knew I have the hugest crush on this boy in my classroom...Travis. That's such a beautiful name. It's the only class I really have with him and I always love the end of the day. I never have talked to him either which sucks. So I reached my 8th period and I took a huge breath before I walked in then all of the sudden I fell to the ground. I heard everybody around me laughing. I knew they were laughing at me. I was so embarrassed. Then I felt a hand grab me and pull me up. I couldn't tell who it was but then I looked up and there was Travis standing right there in front of me. I almost passed out from my heart beating so fast. He asked me
"Are you okay?"
"Yes I'm fine thank you"
I then tried to walk over to my desk because I could feel my face just glowing red from the embarrassment. Then I felt him grab my hand and he turned me around and said
"Hey I never got your name?"
"I'm Iris"
I could here him in the background saying "Wow such a beautiful name." But I just ignored it because I was to embarrassed to look back. So finally the teacher walked into the classroom and told everyone to get in there seats. Everyone headed to there seats and the teacher said
"We are doing a lab today and we have partners but I'm choosing them." Everyone sighed really loud and started complaining. Then the teacher yelled
"SHUT UP"
And everyone got really quiet and I smiled at myself because she was my absolute favorite teacher.
After a couple minutes everyone has there partners... Except me and *gulp* Travis. I was thinking to myself why is she doing this to me. Then I heard her from behind me "Um last but not least Iris and Travis." I cursed to myself while getting everything ready for the lab. He sat in the seat next to me and I could already feel my face turning red
He had said "So we meet again Iris." I absolutely loved how he said my name. His voice was so country, it made me knees wobble every time I heard it. Then he said
"Cat got your tongue?"
"Oh I'm sorry I was just thinking"
"So I think we should probably get started on our lab. I don't want to fail this class or I'll get kicked out of football."
I just stared at him and how his lips moved when he talked, it was beautiful.
"Hello Iris, you sure think a lot. We going to do this lab or you just going to keep staring at my lips."
"Oh I'm so sorry, let's get started."
I was so embarrassed, I hadn't realized that he could see me staring at his lips. So we were almost finished with the lab when he handed me a note. I was so nervous. I slowly took it from his hand and it said
"Don't read until you get home please"
I just looked at him with a weird look then the bell went off and everyone rushed out of the classroom. I was getting everything ready and stuffing it in my backpack then I had realized that Travis was staring at me. I looked up at him and he looked away really quick and I can see his cheeks turning red. He rushed out of the classroom.
I couldn't wait to get home to open the note. I was sitting by myself on the bus because Rebecca's parents pick her up after school. I looked at the note and I opened it, I couldn't wait to get home. I starting reading the note and my heart dropped. It read
"I never knew your name for so long. I've liked you since last year in 10th grade but I never had the guts to tell you. When I saw you fall my heart broke and I'm sorry everyone laughed. I knew it was the perfect time to ask for your name so I did and it's a beautiful name. I love it, but I have a question for you. Will you, Iris, be my girlfriend? Text me at 832-545-6838 and tell me the answer please."
I almost passed out right there on the bus then it stopped all of the sudden. I realized it was my stop and I ran out of the bus straight to the door. I fumbled around in my pocket until I found my keys. I opened the door, slammed it closed and locked it then ran straight to my room. I re-read the note over 10 times before I had the guts to text him. I finally texted him. I texted him saying
"Yes."
