Chapter 5: It's finally all over (Part 1)

Iris POV

I was so happy for today. It was the second to last day until Christmas break. I was super happy because it had been so long since my family has spent Christmas together. Usually my dad was off working in different cities or even states. I rarely got to see him and after almost 3 years of no Christmas break, he finally got one this year. He said he had a huge surprise for me and my mom on the day before Christmas Eve and I could not wait. I could tell my mom was overloaded with joy. She hadn't seen dad in 2 months and neither have I.

So I was packing because we always go to my grandmothers house for Christmas. We usually come on Christmas Eve but since dad is coming home we've decided to go before to surprise grandma. It was Thursday and I was worn. I had been at it for a project the whole afternoon that was due tomorrow. My partner didn't do her job so I had to do it and I was going to tell my teacher too. So anyways I changed into my pajamas and plopped on my bed. I grabbed my phone off of my dresser and saw that I had 3 messages from Travis. I opened my phone and then the messages. The first one had said
"Can you meet me outside your house at 9:00"
"Hello babe where you at"
"Babe?"
I felt so bad, I looked at the clock and it was 8:47. I texted back saying
"Of course babe!!! See you in 12 minutes!!"
He replied saying
"Thanks babe see you then."
I was trying to look halfway decent before we met. He only lives 10 minutes away from me when he walks. Which I did not know until we started dating. So I put on a white t-shirt and my navy hoodie and some sweatpants and fuzzy socks and boots. I looked in the mirror "ehhh I look presentable" I said out loud. Then I heard my mom yell from down the hall
"Honey Travis is here hurry up, he has something for you."
I was surprised because I had no idea he had something for me. I ran down the hall to the door and saw a huge teddy bear and red roses in his hand. I was so shocked. I screamed like a little girl when I saw everything. Travis had the hugest smile on his face and he gave me the roses and the teddy bear. I hugged them both then sat them on the counter and ran up to Travis and gave him the longest hug. I was so happy but I had no clue why he was doing this. I looked him in the face and he was glowing with joy. I asked
"Babe what is all this for?"
He said "I need to tell you something, can we talk somewhere private?"
"Yea sure babe" I said to him then I yelled to my mom
"Me and Travis are going to my room"
I ran in my room dragging him behind me before my mom could answer. When we got in there I said to him
"So what do you need to tell me?"
"Oh yea, hold on"
"Mmmmkay" is all I said.
