Kaelin's POV

"Can I sit here?" I turn my head to face the figure.

"Sure." I say eyes filling with water.

Glancing back at my phone, the screen continued to mock me with the reoccurring scene. "No Messages"

He doesn't even care. A salty stream falls down my cheek. I whisper, "I'm an idiot" to myself.

The stranger turned to me crossing his left leg over his right so that his ankle met his knee.

"Are you alright?" He had a sweet, low British accent that seemed to brake the city's silence.

My cheeks were soaked with the bitterness of each drop of acid that fell from my eyes.

I wipe away each remaining tear before replying.

"Yeah. I'm fine" I sniffle and take in a breath. My lungs filling with warm air.

I face the boy, look at the bench, and mutter,"what's wrong with me?" I needed the truth. I couldn't take rejection much longer.

Not hearing a response, I quickly stand up and started walking away, confused.

A strong hand grabs on to my shoulder gently. I unwillingly turn around whipping my hair. I hadn't realized how close he was.

Harmonie's POV

Stepping down from the stage, I was greeted by multiple common faces including family, friends, and a few strangers.

My actions only expressed a small portion of the emotions I was feeling. Excitement, disbelief, nervousness, boldness, and a sense of feeling almost manic.

Making my way through the warm crowd of congratulators, I slowly inch out into the open air, struggling to catch a breath.

Everything seemed unreal. I walked out to the street where my car had been parked.

Taking my time walking to the street, I pulled out my phone and let everyone know the great news. My fingers were moving at a rapid pace unlike my feet.

A few steps out into the road I was stunned as a car horn blasts into my ears. I froze like a deer in headlights, completely still with fright. I readied for impact as I was tackled to the side.

The massive truck whizzed by with speakers blaring. The bass hurt my ears, even from a distance. The repetitive thump rung throughout my head as the music faded away.

I remained grabbing at the ground, happy to be alive when someone rose up from behind me.

"Are you alright?" A concerned voice spoke, regaining themself.

I sat up without a response, rubbing my head. A ringing pierced my eardrums with the incredibly high waves. Slowly fading away, the noise seized.

My eyes locked with the stranger's. A sudden realization...He saved me.

"Y-You" I stuttered still shocked.

"Dont mention it. Are you okay?" he repeated.

"yeah. thank.you.so.much." I said with small gaps seperating my speech.

As he rose, a hand was outstretched to assist me. I took his hand in mine and was slowly pulled up, until I was face-to-face with my angel sent from heaven.
