Awkward...

Harmonie's POV

Once Beau and I end our call, I take my iPod out, slip my ear buds in, and press play. Music blasts through the tiny wires, causing me to jump. I frantically try to find the volume button in panic.

My fingers find the necessary controls and turn the music down, stopping my ears from bursting. I realize a familiar tune is playing when the first words are sung.

"My best friend best friend til the very end.

Cuz best friends best friends don't have to pretend.

Everything else disappears when I listen to my music. Like the world pauses for a good 3 or so minutes at a time.

I slowly adjust to the volume and turn it all the way up.

Kaelin's POV

I unlock the door, allowing Harry and I to go inside.

"Hey, Harmonie! I'm home!" I yell letting her know.

*silence*

"Harm?" I start to worry.

I give Harry a scared look and pace around the house, searching for her. I reach her room and hear faint music. Okay. I swear, I get scared too easily.

I walk back into the living room where Harry is standing with his hands shoved into his pockets.

"She was in her room. Damn music drains everything else out." I say with a half smile.

He just smiles and stands awkwardly.  

"Soo..." I trail off, "do you want to watch tv or something?" I honestly don't know what to say. I haven't had a guy over to Harmonie's and my house since the neighbors had a "welcome to LA" 'party' the first month we got here. Since then, I've pretty much been socially isolated.

"Erm, sure." He responds.

We both took a seat on the couch directly in front of the television. I take the remote and scroll through the channels aimlessly.

"What do you usually watch?" I ask breaking the awkwardness.

I sit 'criss-cross-applesauce' waiting for his response.

"I don't really watch a whole lot of TV. I'm always kind of busy."

I set the remote down and a random channel shows.

"Oh." I feel like my awkwardness is taking over.

His phone vibrates momentarily.
