Chapter 1✴ The Unexpected

   *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* "Alarm clock give me just five minutes please!" *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEE-* "Fine I'll get up jeez, I regret buying an alarm clock that beeps louder each minute." My name is Neo Ratoi. I'm the silent, smart, averagely strong kind of guy.I live my life as a middle schooler in 8th grade. So far nothing really extroadinary happens in my life. Only my dreams are pretty weird where I'm fighting something. I just don't remember that thing for some reason. It also seems to get more frequent with a dream where I fight in a hallway. "Oh great I had that same weird dream again! I have to go to school now too-uuugh." As I waited at my bus stop I noticed something peculiar, the sky turned black for a less than a second."What the..." I blinked a few times and it's not black."I'm probably hallucinating again."
   As the day went on, I felt something was going to happen, like a calamity or event maybe. I just decided to shrug it off since this isn't a feeling you always rely on. I talked to my friend Sam Sherteck and she only says,"You probably have some sort of mental disease that needs to be checked up on or maybe you're just tired. I haven't heard of anyone having this kind of trouble before though." I tryed asking all my friends: Tim Rainer, Carol Retalk, Trent Rez, Quin Tara; they all said similar things related to me being mental or being tired. As the school day nearly ended, I went toward my last class period.
   Something didn't seem right though, the hallway seems to be a lot more empty than filled. Not only that people that walked were pale and looked emotionless...
Then in the middle of the hallway I see a dark figure hitting  friends, especially Tim, chaining him, abusing him! "HEY! What are you doing to him!?" Tim saw me and said, "RUN!" but I didn't feel like running. As the dark figure dashed toward me I went into battle stance, it felt well, natural. Then this dark thing tried to punch me and I dodged it. Then all of a sudden time stopped, this was weird and new to me, but I wasn't thinking at all just fighting so I did an uppercut to the dark figure and then time started again but when it did, this dark thing was launched through the ceiling and it seemed KO'd leaving a key on the floor. I went to Tim to get him out of the chains. But I realized that I didn't use the key, instead I punched the lock off... As things couldn't get weirder, I see the same dark thing appear below and behind the KO'd dark figure. Then I realized that there were probably more of these dark humanoids in the school... "Well that's JUUUST great! Another one..." But this time I'm the one attacking it and it dodged but I some how did another punch quicker than it can dodge; I did this repeatedly in a combo of kicks and punches while dodging it. Then finally I finished it with an uppercut while jumping. I heard a *shiin-k* then I looked behind me and I see a giant dark figure with armor and a humongous katana. "Well that's not good" I had to think about what I can do before this dark swordsman will chop me up to bits. "Could I use anything to hit him?" I realized that I could maybe imagine a sword and use it since I seem to move past my mental and physical limit, maybe I can summon the sword with just my mind... I tryed and it worked "Yes!" but then it vanished, maybe I had to keep imagining the sword. I tryed to keep imagining and it worked! Just in time to, the giant dark figure was already running toward me. I parried it and then dodged the katana while jumping on his arm. Finally I jumped up in mid air and slashed the dark thing. The armor doesn't seem that tough now to me since I slashed right through it. Afterwards another thing appeared, it's different though, it was bright and white. "What do you want?" The mysterious figure said,"I don't want but need you." I never understood what he meant,"Wait what?" He rephrased it as,"NEO, I need you to join the Light Guardians!"
